Remembrance
James LaJocies

She came to me some years ago,
It seemed just like yesterday.

So quickly the time flies,
Now she has gone away.

I think of our time together,
The smiles, laughter and play.
And wish I could rewind the clock,
Turn it back to those happy days.

She crossed over suddenly,
And in a flash of time.
Brought a ‘period’ to her life,
And a hole in mine.

On the headstone I read the dates,
Separated by a dash.
Thinking that this is what her life has be reduced to,
Time spent in the ‘dash’.

I refuse to let the memories fade,
Like reflections on paper that fade in time.
Her life lives in my heart,
Crystal clear in my mind.

Her life flickered out like a candle,
Shadowing hopes and dreams of mine.
But, someday we will be together again,
In another place, in another time.

I will miss you Angel Princes.
