Florida: Lies, Big Lies, and Racist Disemfranchisement of "Felons"

Hey I'm no fan of Gore's pro-WTO, Welfare "reform" denial, and War on Drugs (the last of which may cost Gore the election, the racist KKK agenda to deny black voting rights being brought forward by the southern states permanently disenfrachhising up to 1/4 of black men for possession of a substance milder than beer). This legislation in Florida was passed after the Civil War to keep former slaves from voting. Being black, then as now, was considered the practical definition of "felon". And, about those 8,000 names of non-felons that Katherine Harris, the partisan dragon-lady, who got away with not recusing herself as judge of elections while being co-chair of the Bush campaign (partisanship that stinks to high heaven) got from right-wing consultants in Texas, and had pulled from the voter rolls, just so much icing on their racist cake!

Statistical Illeteracy among Judges

The day after the election, the chart above appeared on the Internet, and to one with elementary statistics in hand, one can see that there was indeed something fishy with the West Palm Beach "butterfly" ballot, that had nine times the error rate of other counties, and an anomalous Buchanan/Bush ration by a factor of six. The chances of this happening statistically are about one in 30,000,000. Alas, lawyers and judges are not literate in statistics, so no judical remedy occurred. There are a large number of Jewish grandmothers who are miffed to have had their votes counted for that new Hitler, Pat Buchanan.

Yet... George Dubya who is trying to get in by stealth and lies and bluster, taking advantage of abvious flawed said, and I quote "West Palm is a Buchanan stronghold" is a BIG LIE, of the sort recommented by Josef Goebbels during the Third Reich, repeated often, and in a stentorian voice. Recount the votes?. Okay in Texas, where Dubya signed a law allowing for manual recounts, and in New Mexico, where he issued identical challenges to Gore's in Florida. Manual recounts are ALWAYS more accurate, and Dubya's insistence to the contrary another self-serving LIE.

1876 Fraud Repeated

I have learned a lot about Hayes/Tilden election of 1876. The Presidency of "Ruther-fraud" B. Hayes, also over a dual electoral slate form Florida, led to a failed Presidency. May Dubya fail in any and all of his future endeavors! May the failure drag the Republican party into oblivion!

The planned theft of Social Security

No to his agenda of senoirs who have to eat dog food because billionaires no longer pay their taxes, receiving trillions in corporate welfare instead, and their Social Security has been "privatized" by wealthy stockbrokers churning fat commissions without regulation (remember the theft of $3000 from each American in the Savings and Loan scandal - small potatoes!) And big tax breaks given to corporate billionaires! No to "Christian" bigot rightists in the Cabinet, takeaway of minority rights, and special rights for country club capitalists, and carte blanche for corporat polluters. No way, you fraudulent bastard!

A "Whiff of Fascism:" Non-Cooperation with Evil

I can only promise non-cooperation with that neo-raygun fascist executioner with a smile button. The biggest reminder of 30's Germany was the "Spontaneous Demonstration" orchestrated by the Bush Campaign, that occurred outside the Miami-Dade recounting. House Republican Staffers, flown in for the occasion, made loud noises and tried to attack the convassing board who were counting votes. Well, the coup d'etat succeeded, dues to a corrupt and partisan decision by right-wing memebers of the supreme court, who in spite of having relatives working on the Bush campaign, still entered into a decision giving the election to Shrub. See the analysis by N.
