Faerie Rituals

Mayan priestsPay respect to the Goddesses and Gods of these continents before worshiping your own Gods and Goddesses. We are guests here.

The Ritual Circle

Several times a year, the Chicago Faerie Circle performs a Pagan-esque, Wiccan-esque ritual. In such a circle, a magical circle is drawn to remove the faeries from the mundane world and to transport them to the supernatural world. The four quarters of the universe are invoked: air for breath, fire for emotion, water for cleansing and Earth for grounding. Then, ancient Goddesses or Gods may be invoked, or just the Queer God. Magickal work follows: celebration, healing, transformation, etc., whatever the circle needs and decides to to do. The quarters are then thanked and dismissed, and the faeries share some food and drink together.

Heart Circles

Many times a year, faeries gather for a heart circle: a discussion from the heart. Once everyone is assembled, someone describes the rules of the heart circle. They are as follows. Only one person can talk at a time. The person who is talking holds a talisman, which is passed in a circle. This way everybody gets to talk when it is their turn. People can talk about anything they want, but nothing that is said may be repeated elsewhere. This helps people talk honestly. Once the talismen goes around the circle once without anyone saying anything, the heart circle ends. Heart circles often resolve many issues.

Phallic acts of worship.

The central private acts of worshiping Shiva are unabridged sex and hermetic meditation, the two extremes of physical and spiritual experience. The primary public act of worship is pouring libations of milk, yoghurt, curds, cream, honey and oil over Shiva's altar-phallus called a Shiva Lingum.
