Aurora
Aurora Linux is a Sparc specific port based on RedHat Fedora. Development tends to happen in spurts and the project website has not been updated since December of 2007. Still, it's far more current than RedHat 6.2, the last version of RedHat to support Sparc hardware. |

Fedora
Fedora is the free community supported Linux offshoot of Redhat. It tends to serve as a test bed for RedHat's Enterprise Linux and as such tends to have the latest cutting edge open sourced software. If you're an old-school Linux user that prefers a command line shell prompt to a GUI and you like tweaking and tuning the latest and greatest, this is your OS. If you're more the push-button GUI type, try CentOS which is based upon Fedora but has a nice GUI interface but lags slightly behind Fedora. |
