Many current agriculture methods are not sustainable. Bad practices often lose valuable top soil or leach all the minerals from it. Fertile farmland is paved over for warehouses and business parks while desert is irrigated to grow crops. Minerals leached from soil through over watering turn rivers into salt-water rivers and the nutrients deplete the water of oxygen. Meat production is particularly damaging. We need to find long term solutions to feed an ever increasing world population.
