Energy
We need to develop and deploy new sustainable and scalable energy sources. Our very survival depends upon it. The two trillion dollars a year we're spending on oil imports is killing our economy and it won't be long before that oil will be unavailable at any price. Nature is making some rapid changes and we don't have the energy necessary to adapt. - 2 Topics

Terraforming
I have had many dreams lately involving terraforming other planets, making them places that we can live. So I thought it might be interesting to create a topic to discuss the subject, how it might be done. I think Mars would be the easiest and I've got some ideas on how to do it in a lifetime instead of over several centuries. - 2 Topics

Sustainable Food Production
Many current agriculture methods are not sustainable. Bad practices often lose valuable top soil or leach all the minerals from it. Fertile farmland is paved over for warehouses and business parks while desert is irrigated to grow crops. Minerals leached from soil through over watering turn rivers into salt-water rivers and the nutrients deplete the water of oxygen. Meat production is particularly damaging. We need to find long term solutions to feed an ever increasing world population. - 0 Topics
