I updated the forum software to the latest version (as of early March 2010) with its various bug and security fixes; some of these are additional anti-spam measures, so there's hope for better handling of the incessant bots out there. A few of the forum styles we had installed haven't been updated to match the higher versions yet, particularly the one that had been the default guest view, so there may have been a style reset on some accounts.
