I know there were a whole bunch of electronic hobbyists in the area in the good old days back when Radio Shack was like a real radio shack where the parts for radios were stored (i.e. tubes, transistors, capacitors, etc.).

I know there are the robotics people from Seattle Robotics Society and the ham guys that go to all the hamfests and there are still parts stores like Alphatronics and Fry's. So there must still be some people in the area that do electronics.
