If you're like me, running antique hardware because you can't afford to upgrade, and you happen to be plagued with an old Nvidia video card, in my case a Geforce4 MX440, that is slow, unstable, or both, I found a very helpful resource in the form of aftermarket drivers. See http://www.omegadrivers.net/ for a functional replacement for Nvidia drivers. These were developed by a third party programmer / engineer who had Nvidia hardware and was frustrated with the instability, performance, and inability to access all of the hardware's features. Prior to installing these drivers I was getting bluescreens up the gazoo but haven't had a single bluescreen since.
