In every newsgroup with which I'm familiar, hitting the "reply" button results in a new message screen with the subject already filled in with "Rd:" and the name of the message being replied to.

That doesn't happen here. Howcome?

Now with the new software, the Reply behavior is like that of news readers like you have experienced.
