We've had some complaints about mail bouncing. We did have one mail
server acting up but it shouldn't have resulted in bounces because there are
others that should have accepted the mail.
The mail server in question hopefully has been repaired. We had a couple
of problems with it, a compatibility issue between the SIMMS and the
motherboard which caused some long-term instability, and the only cooling fan
in the power supply, which was the only fan cooling the machine other than the
CPU fan, died resulting in overheating.
We have replaced the motherboard, memory, CPU, and case and power supply
with a newer motherboard and SDRAM, a faster 200mhz CPU, and a case that has an
additional fan besides the fan in the power supply so there is some cooling
redundancy. So that machine should be fixed, but I am concerned that a
configuration error may exist in the others.
If anybody that tried to mail from elsewhere has a copy or can obtain a
copy of the bounce message, it would be helpful at determining what went wrong.
