Many people have been asking when 56k would be available in Tacoma.
It was originally supposed to have been available around this time last
year but due to various problems it's availability was delayed.
56K, Dual Bonded-Channel 56K (112K), and ISDN is NOW available in
Tacoma!
The new access number for 56K, Dual 56k, and ISDN is: 253-579-0900
This may not have the same coverage area as our existing V.34 927
number because it is in a different exchange, I would recommend dialing it
to make sure you can get through.
If you have an existing V.34 dial-up subscription or remote
subscription, as with any other area we serve, you are entitled to a free
two-week trial of the 56k, dual-56k, or ISDN service, and if you like it
you can upgrade by paying the difference between the rate you paid for
your existing account and the 56k rate of the same term, for the remaining
months left in your subscription (e-mail nanook@eskimo.com for a quote).
This may be of significant benefit even if you only have a 33.6k
modem because it is a digital circuit and won't have all the loss and
noise associated with an analog FEX that negatively affects the V.34
access numbers.
