New Virus Sept 19th (fwd)
This was sent to me by Robert York, contains good background about the new
virus/worm Nimba that has badly affected us yesterday and to a lesser degree
today.
It has been determined that this virus contains a destructive payload and
so must be removed from your machine if you don't wish to risk loss of data.
The link below is for Symantec, but my understanding is that other major
anti-virus vendors are also onto this and coming out with updates, so check
with your vendor.
Do NOT open any e-mail that has "read-me.exe" attachments. Also, if you
are browsing the web and you get an unexpected download pop-up, cancel it right
away.
