One thing to know about getting chipped, animals that receive chips have a 1-in-2000 chance of developing cancer at the chip site. Because people live longer, that probably means our chances of developing cancer are even greater. I have noticed a growing trend towards chipping Alzheimer's patience so that they can be identified if they escape and wander off. This is not a trend I find encouraging.
