I have a friend on the East coast who has a young friend, TJ, fighting a battle against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Pro-B, first diagnosed at age 14, he is currently 16. This young man is bravely facing his disease head-on and doing something to help other youngsters afflicted with cancer.

Hats take on a special importance to many cancer victims because treatment results in the loss of their hair. TJ is trying to beat the worlds record for collecting hats and once he achieves that he wishes to distribute them to children with cancer everywhere. Please help him reach his goal.

Please click on the banner below to read TJ's story and to find out where to send hats. An old hat you might have sitting on a closet shelf can go a long way towards improving the life of one young cancer victim and perhaps many young victims down the road.

Help TJ beat cancer and help other young
cancer victims.

Nanook Head

Hello! I am Robert Dinse, the founder, owner, and operator of Eskimo North.

Eskimo North was started as a BBS running on a Trs-80 model III in 1982, grew into a multi-line Unix time-share service, and then a full-service ISP providing a broad range of Internet access and hosting services.

I've been interested in communications all my life, and specifically in providing the ability for the common person to communicate to a wide audience.

I had an interest in pirate and public non-commercial radio when I was in Jr High and High School because I felt at the time that commercial radio did not fairly represent the broad spectrum of human interests and opinions. Thirty years later I still feel this way. In fact, with the demise of the broadcast ownership restrictions when broadcast rules were rewritten in the 1996 Telecommunications Act, broadcast is now controlled in major markets by only three large corporations with the result being an almost total lack of diverse opinions or local content.

After high school I attempted to earn a living in commercial broadcast engineering but just was not successful in breaking into a large market with little experience. I ended up working for PNB telephone company, which got swallowed up by US West which later changed it's name to Qwest for 17 years. In 1995 I left the telephone company to devote full time to running Eskimo North. Providing these services are a way I can still give the common man access to a wide audience so that everyone's ideas can be heard. Below are some of my personal sites.
