I'm having some difficulty getting the news server up. One of the
spool disks has as near as I can tell 15 bad blocks. The file system check
option -c which is supposed to run findbad and lock out the bad blocks
doesn't seem to work, nor does the -l option where you specify the
blocks. It adds the blocks to the bad blocks list but those blocks
were allocated to inodes which it doesn't have anywhere else to put
them. I've been working on this for more than seven hours and it's
possible I may not be able to recover the system without a replacement
          drive.

The Seattle1 communications server also got ill and went out to
lunch, this was causing lag and other failures this evening. It has
since been rebooted which dropped all the connections that were still
up on it. My apologies to those that were cut off.

We've also been having a lot of phone problems this evening, again.
Last night, US West was sending many of our calls to "All Circuits are Busy
Now" recordings, tonight sometimes we don't get dialtone, lines go up and
down, we get re-order if we try to make calls. I am eagerly waiting the
TCG lines for Tacoma and Everett, and given the current service for US West
I plan on installing at least a portion of our Seattle modem pool on TCG
lines as well, so there is more than one way to get here.
