MegaPOP: Seattle Outage Update (fwd)
Here is an update I just received, I have deleted the originating e-mail
address because our contract specifies that we interface with them not our
customers so we do not want ot be giving their e-mail address out.

Subject: MegaPOP: Seattle Outage Update
PROBLEM: Seattle Outage
STATUS: Ongoing
SITUATION: After having tried two seperate Portmasters and still
experiancing the same difficuties, it was determined the coincidence of
both being at fault would be unlikely. Therefore we again pursued the
possibilites of a problem at the telco, but ELI continued to show in
further testing that the line was "clean". We are currently working with
high-level technicians at Livingston/Lucent to determine once and for all
where the problems might be coming from. Obviously this needs to be
determined before any fix can be tried. Every possible solution is being
tried and nothing is being ruled out.
The main purpose of this notice is to make you aware to expect the Seattle
POP to become unavailable at various times as we work with all parties and
may occcasionally take the box offline, switch cables, etc., at their
recommendation. You can be assured that we are giving this our full
attention and are using every available resource to resolve these
difficulties.
