We've lost ALL of our US West telephone service today around 8:30am, no dialtone, no ringing, not even battery and ground, which suggests yet another power problem with the telco Discus multiplexing equipment (my residential service is also out). I am trying to get someone at US West to get someone out here to fix thier equipment. Because there is no battery and ground on ANY of the lines this really suggests a problem with the Discuss multiplexing equipment. The last two times this happened there was a blown fuse on the Discuss the first time, the second time both rectifiers went down and the batteries were bad. It took 8 hours to get someone dispatched the first time, 14 the second. I am calling everybody at US West I know to call but if any of you have contacts there; that information would be appreciated.
