     I posted last night about a network problem with Sprint; and there
are some residual problems today but they are unrelated to that problem.

     A couple of days ago someone hacked AOL's Internic password and
changed updated their records to point to DNS servers that weren't AOL.

     This was apparently straightened out but it is said to have caused
some internal problems in AOL's network.  Presently, Sprint is isolated
from two of AOL's networks and they are down on AOL's end.  Those being
down of coarse are causing much congestion on remaining links.

     This is also causing problems for Compuserve and it's my
understanding that ICQ is related. 

     So these problems are outside of here; and there isn't much we can do
except for to wait for AOL to resolve thier own internal problems.

     I've received several other reports but they have resolved to be DNS
problems at the destination site.
