Chat failed yesterday and I was not able to find the cause yesterday other
than some damage to the root and user file systems.
Today it failed hard; SCSI bus problems, and on the Sun 4/330, the SCSI
bus is built in to the main board, so that means the main board is bad. There
is the possibility that one of the drives is bad hanging the bus and not the
board itself. It's such an antique though I want to get it out of service
anyway.
We have dropped the setup fee for non-dedicated SLIP/PPP, though requests
will be handled on an as time allows basis. I am going to have tia1 replace
the functionality of chat for bots, since tia1 will be deloaded as people move
to non-dedicated SLIP/PPP that are presently using emulated SLIP/PPP.
