NETWORK OUTAGE:
Detroit - Began: approx.3:20 CST
Expected downtime: 3-4 hours
Although the MegaPOP NOC Status page has continual reports being posted
regarding this outage, we felt this definately seemed significant enough to
bring to your attention. MFS is reporting to us that a fiber-cut is the
cause of the backbone outage in Michigan and they have it isolated and are
repairing as quickly as possible. This is a "global problem" in this
region, affecting everyone on their network utilizing the Michigan area.
We are part of an open ticket to be notified as to the resolution and of
any updates and will of course post these to the MegaPOP NOC area labeled
'Current Status' (at http://www.megapop.net/noc/status.shtml) for the most
current information as it happens.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to report any information we
find on the data provider's outage.
