At approximately 9:05pm, we experienced a brown-out heavy enough to shut
off the television upstairs but not enough to shut down the servers.
However, at about this time, all the Seattle 56k lines (including Everett
and Tacoma, which are served from the same equipment) started resulting in
nothing but busy signals. These were the normal busies from our location,
not the reorder fast-busies or the all-circuits-busy recordings. A couple
users had called in with that particular code however.
I called the problem into MegaPop twice so far; once I left a message
detailing the problem and later got a human who said they were already
"researching" the problem. A glance at the connection status of our
customers on the Seattle/Everett/Tacoma lines shows that no-one is logged
in there. I had hoped that after the normal 10-minute idle disconnect
that some of them would reset and answer again, but it's almost an hour
now.
The modems on the 33.6k lines seem to be answering well at the moment,
although there is one I've tracked down that doesn't seem to want anything
to do with speeds faster than 19.2k or so. I'll get that modem replaced
as soon as I see it's not connected. I also have a couple no-answers to
track down here in the meantime.
I'll post more to the list when I either see a status report or call them
again before I leave for the evening.
