The higher than usual network latency this evening is the result of a
packet flood by some malicious idiot out on the net.
Because the source addresses are always forged, these things are difficult
to trace back. There is filtering at Sprint, however, they are flooding with
sufficient intensity to cause congestion even there. The attack is aimed at
one of our IRC servers, so no doubt some 13 year old script kiddie probably got
K-lined or something.
