Eskinews has been somewhat unstable since the upgrade to INN 2.2.2 which
was necessary because of Y2K concerns. There are some things that I suspect
may be causing this but I had to reboot the system and it did not come up
cleanly.
It is presently running file system checks on all the file systems and
the check on /var/spool/news, being a 180GB file system, is likely to take a
while.
There are two things that I suspect may be causing some of the problems,
I used -O6 optimization, with some code this causes problems, and I am using
mmap() in a context that might be causing problems under Linux. I'm going to
recompile INN with -O2 and change the mmap() stuff when the system comes back
up.
