Yesterday, Skycache upgraded our satelite feed from a 4mb/s system to a
45mb/s system. The news server has been barfing regularly since then. They
made changes at their server at the same time and I suspect what is happening
is that the maximum size of headers allowed is larger than what our INN allows
with it's present configuration, resulting in buffer overruns and all the
problems that accompany them.
I am rebuilding INN to upgrade the size of some buffers to hopefully
resolve this problem.
At the same time I am making some other changes geared at improving
processing effeciency. I believe however, this will require a rebuild of the
history database, and so it will be necessary to have INN off-line for a short
time while doing this.
