I am trying to build a new kernel for www to see if stability problems we
have experienced are related to compiler optimizations. I read recently in a
Linux news group that some other people who have been experiencing similiar
problems were able to solve them by disabling certain optimization options when
building the kernel.
While in the process of building the material the machine crashed. It's
back up now but will be rebooted at least one more time to test a kernel built
without optimization.
