The server is doing something weird and I don't understand why. It hardly
expired any articles the night before last, and now it's been working on an
overview expire for 15 hours (something it normally completes in about an
hour).
Doing a trace on the process it seems to be progressing normally and
deleting expired articles from the overview database, as it should, but it is
taking a lot longer than it normally doesn't and at present I have no idea why.
It has over 1/2 million articles it is trying to remove in one shot.
I'm afraid to interrupt the process, for fear it would just waste 15 hours
worth of processing that it's already done.
