New POP Authentication Issue
CHAP was never officially supported by the old POP, but apparently it
worked, but PAP or scripted login was always the officially supported method.
Apparently some ISDN routers are configured to do CHAP authentication,
and this has been the cause of at least some failures to connect via ISDN to
the new POP.
This isn't to suggest for a minute that there aren't other substantial
problems, but if you can't authenticate now, and you're using a platform that
supports CHAP, this is something to check.
