               This is just a reminder that we will be taking the news server down later
          this evening to add a 100-base-T card in an attempt to solve one particular
          bottleneck wherein a 45mb/s satellite feed is attempting to squeeze through a
          10mb/s ethernet pipe.
          
               I fully do not expect this to resolve all the news issues, but should help
          somewhat.
          
               Further resolution is going to require different hardware.  One item I'm
          trying to find, some years ago I saw these boxes that you would put like ten
          EIDE drives into and it had controllers for each drive, would strip them into
          one large drive and then it had a SCSI interface that made it look to a host
          like one large SCSI drive. 
          
               I can get 60GB EIDE drives now for $179 so this is one cost-effective way
          we could put together a useful sized news spool.
