two ultra1 file-server freezes

Ultra1, the file server that holds the user partition and therefore
affected all services from mail, shell access, etc., froze twice this
evening, once with some errors that I jotted down for Robert, and the
second time with no errors at all, and requiring one partition (not
userspace) to be manually fsck'd.

Back up at the moment, and in case heat was a factor, I setup a fan in the
room.
