               This is kind of exploratory surgery.  I'm reasonably sure we have a
          hardware problem because the same CPU keeps showing up in the failures and it's
          a failure mode that I'm not used to seeing.  That is to say, Linux has some
          bugs that cause occasional crashes but this is different than the usual.
