eskinews crash

     Eskinews is down.  The machine went into a strange la-la land mode where
it would echo anything typed, it would allow you to connect to a port, but then
the application would not respond.  It wasn't possible to login, and
control-alt-delete wouldn't get it's attention so it was necessary to hard boot
it.

     As a result, the file systems need to be cleaned and the news spool takes
many hours for this to complete.
