     The SCSI disk controller that controls the news spool disks wedged this
afternoon.  A reboot cleared the condition allowing the disks to be accessed
again but file system corruption resulted necessitating a file system check
which restores file system integrity.  This will take 3-4 hours so news should
be back up sometime between 6-7pm barring any further unforseen incidences.
