Mail Issues




     We lost a disk drive on one of the mail servers over the weekend and had
to move mail to another server.  That server however was not capable of keeping
up with the load, in part because it had less memory, and in part because it
didn't have it's own name server so sendmail would have to query another server
to resolve domain names which slowed it down.

     The failed server has new drives and is back in operation now so mail
should return to normal.  Brace yourself for the flood of spam that will
inevitably result.
