Mail Server 7/21/2009

     We had a problem with NFS communications between the mail server and the
main file server starting at about 5:08 PM Pacific time on 7/21/2009.  The
resulting load was so heavy that I was unable to correct the situation remotely
and being rush hour it took a while to make it to the co-lo facility.

     The mail server was restored to service at 6:23 PM Pacitic time.

     We've been experiencing a series of denial of service attacks recently
that have exacerbated this problem.
