AMTA is part of the division structure of
the Music Teachers National Association.
The Northwest Division includes:
Alaska, Idaho, Montana,
Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
 
The presidents of these MTNA state affiliates meet annually with the Division Director
in one of the Northwest Division's six states. The Northwest Division MTNA
student performance competitions take place during this annual meeting in January.
