| Joan Reeves is a Seattle native and finds her favorite subject matter in the varying scenery of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. The effects of light and shadow are a predominant theme in her paintings. Several trips to Europe have produced European-inspired series; Greece continues to be a favorite locale for paintings. She studied at the University of Hawaii, Cornish School and with a number of prominent local and nationally recognized instructors. | ![]() |

Reeves' paintings are exhibited widely in the Northwest. Her work has been shown at the Frye Art Museum, the Bellevue Art Museum, Missoula Museum of the Arts, and in juried, invitational, and solo exhibitions. Numerous awards include Past Presidents Award in Northwest Watercolor Society National Exhibition, Best Transparent Watercolor and Best of Show in the Women Painters of Washington Annual shows. Her work is in many private and corporate collections, including City of Edmonds, Craftsman Press, West Coast Paper Company, Kidder, Peabody Inc., and the Northwest Watercolor Society. |
| Reeves is a member of Women Painters of Washington, the Arts Stall Gallery in the Pike Place Market, and is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, the Montana Watercolor Society, and Watercolor West. | ![]() |
