: : : Looking for transistors for a 6000
: : : FPN4250 and GES97
: : Ahhh Yes! the 4250 is a low noise PNP, which is also a 2N4250 or MPS4250 which you can evidently get at
: : http://www.web-tronics.com/mps4250.html
: : I thinkn that was the current source in the mic pre. I gotta get those schematics up on this site! Coming up soon, I promise!
: : The GES97 was an NPN,around 40 Volts Vceo I think, but we used them in theses companies cause they were "OK" and cheap! The pinout as I remember was BCE not EBC like a 2N2222 etc...
: : boB
: Thanks for the info.
: Are you saying that a 2n2222 or any AF NPN with a 40V collector to emitter transistor will work if I insert it as a bce?
: Thanks again
I replaced the GES97 transistors with 2n2222's. I just had to turn them around 180 deg since the 97's were CBE. They worked great. I was not able to compare the noise figure to a working channel since all channels were bad including the op amp. It had taken a surage from a nearby lighting strike. I found the 2n4250's local in Dallas at Tanners Electronics.
Thank you very much for your time, and posting the schematics.......YOU THE MAN
