Phase Linear 4000 & 400 Series 1

I have the above preamp/amplifier combination, and I am trying to keep them going as long as possible!They are 240v models
1.
The 4000 has wobbly rca connectors, I am told these can't be replaced as they are fixed on to a circuit board.
2.
I run it on-20db because of noise, and auto correlate/expander circuits out as I lose one channel with them in and no-one can fix, but that is ok generally.
3.
The 400 has developed a loud crack out of one channel on turnoff. Is that a component on the way out?Will this damage speakers? Should I install relay board?
Apart from that they have been great for over 20 years. I would appreciate any advice.
