Well, here it is. The cabin we have all been talking about, around Owensville IN.
These pictures were given to me recently by my dad, Doyal Gudgel. Please
read his brief Cabin note
that he wrote to the Gudgel
mail list regarding these pictures.
If this is all true, (and I don't see why it shouldn't be), then the old
cabin picture takes on an even more special meaning to me because the
woman sitting in front of
the cabin is my Great Great
Great Grandmother, Lucy Thurman
Gudgel, William Gudgel's wife. William is
Old Andrew Gudgel's youngest (17th) kid.

Compare this to a picture taken in (I think) the 1950's of the cabin, many
years after time and weather had taken it's toll on the old home that many
of us have a relation to as well.

Wow! I can just here the wind whistling the old stories of Andrew
and the Indians dancing around him! Awesome and eerie at the same
time.
The old picture with My GGG Grandmother Lucy Thurman sitting in front
was given to Doyal Gudgel several years ago by Walter Harris which was (I
think) one of William and Lucy Thurman Gudgel's nephews.
The newer picture of the cabin was given to dad (he seems to
remember), from an old woman near Owensville, (possibly a relative), that
was going to have some scouts do something with the logs, then she died
and now we don't know where the logs are.
Please, if you have any
corrections or additions about the cabin, let us know via the Gudgel mail
list.
