     Nasca lines, Megalithic stone and Earthworks, Chaco Canyon and
       Avebury, unusual Magnetic effects, Greek and Egyptian temples,

         In the winter of 1990 I began contacting Crop Circle researchers and
offering to supply them with diagrams and instructions for using a number
of  electronic devices which I had developed for investigating Geophysical
parameters and which seemed to relate to Crop Circles and other rather
unusual phenomena.  These methods for exploring eventually became
so popular I could not keep up with the resultant correspondence and
for a while there has been no way of presenting this research and its
results to a wider and interested  audience.  Eventually I was able
to investigate two real Crop Circles near Portland, Oregon, and the
data I gathered there proved so overwhelming as to produce a complete
overload of rational thought.  For some time I disappeared from the
'Crop Circle Scene' in order to try and make some sense of what this
is all about, and how to proceed into what is at best very difficult
research.

Crop Circles and Earthquake precursors are usually pursued by people
 who have an intellectual and emotional curiosity about the fundamental
 processes of our Earth and the Universe.  Lately I have met and
 worked with a rather different group of people, which I have now
 understood may be the tip of a larger interest representing nearly
 two percent of the human population.  These people are brought to
 research not so much by curiosity as by the need to remove a very
 obnoxious  'sound'  from their experience, a penetrating Hum.

 For those who are not experiencing  this hum a full description of
 it is impossible for it is much more than a noise, it is some kind of
 body and mind affecting trauma which in its most powerful expression
 is completely devastating,  resulting in emotional stress, job loss,
 isolation, and physical symptoms such as headache, dizziness,
 bleeding nose, nausea, inner ear pressure and at times intense pain.
 Intensive medical  research has shown no visible ear or nerve damage
 to explain this, technical research done in Taos, New Mexico, an area
 where many hearers live, has also turned up nothing very substantial.

 My experience in Crop Circle and Earthquake precursor research
 leads me to believe that the 'Taos Hum,' as it has come to be called
 although it is truly global, can be researched in much the same way
 as Crop Circles for the two phenomena are apparently related. I have
 also begun to find that there may be several less visible groups
 of people who are having other, perhaps more frightening effects
 than the hum, including unaccountable visions, 'electrical' shocks
 and a rather long list of experiences which seem to have no base in
 reality but which for each percipient is more real than everyday
 experience, so real as to call ones' sanity into question.  I'll try to bring
 these effects out as we progress, I've talked to a number of people about
 them and they are a pretty effective way of being scared half to death.

 It is a serious, unaddressed problem that each individual lives essentially
 alone with their suffering, in many cases not suspecting that a large
 increase in these effects is taking place over time and each day more
 individuals are afflicted. While the 'Hummers' in Britain have formed
 groups I'm familiar with people who do not have hum, yet are having
 rather intense 'supernatural' experiences mostly by themselves. As the
 'hummers' have frequently complained, approaching doctors or medical
 systems with these problems can produce quite unsatisfying results.

 Given the large and growing portion of the population needing to
 be related to here, maybe the problem is not being addressed for fear
 it will be expensive.  As is usual with real rather than moral problems
 sweeping it all under the rug can only result in bigger bills later, after
 current regimes have retired.

 The list of physiological effects mentioned by folks who have investigated
 Crop Circles is much the same as with the 'hummers:' headache, nausea,
 dizziness, and a panoply of other unaccountable but very real sensations.
  On my own visit to Crop Circles I personally experienced a number
 of interesting effects, and heard quite a number of other people in the
 same circles mentioning a different form of effect; the relief of chronic








 pain which had been with them since automobile accidents which
 had left them with lasting injuries.  I  saw one woman who developed
 'Goose bumps' fully two inches across upon stepping into a small
 'satellite' circle.  A man with a metal plate in his lower back as a repair
 for damage from an injury told me that he could feel something 'tugging'
 at the plate as he stood talking to me, something he had never felt before.
 I found that a severe blister I had when I arrived at the first circle
 was healed apparently within seconds of my approaching the circle
 although I didn't notice this until a couple of days later.

 I also had a Canon T-50 camera electrically destroyed by exposure
 to something within the circle, and at the second circle I investigated
 most of the batteries which operate my research gear failed in unison
 as the Sun set, a real bother if you want to do any electronically based
 research.  I'll detail these and an even more curious experience a little
 farther on.

 Crop Circle enthusiasts will agree that this is just a partial list of the
effects    experienced while working in circles, there are a vast number of
additional
            occurrences which defy rational explanation so far, but which are
being
 nibbled away at by a Lilliputian hoard of rather determined researchers.

             While working with Crop Circles I began publishing some of the
basic
 electronic designs, especially a means of exploring the tiny fluctuations
 in the Geomagnetic field (The same field which causes Compasses to
 give accurate direction) which now have been discovered by separate
 researchers to be linked in a demonstrable way with medium to large
 earthquakes.  Readers of the 'Geo-Monitor,' an earthquake precursor
 research journal, will recognize 'Life at 1200 Turns,' as may Crop Circle
 students.

            This research was given a large push forward by the
 Loma Prieta-San Francisco Earthquake which through serendipitous
 placement of an ELF receiver revealed that Earthquakes have a number
 of precursors which are detectable in the Electromagnetic spectrum.
 Lengthy and intense research has revealed that there were no other










 physical or 'mechanical' precursors to this earthquake, no strain-gauge
 revelations, no tilt-meter indications, nothing.  The only known physical
 precursor appears to be the shift in timing of a geyser at some distance
 from the quake area, and that doesn't make a lot more sense than
 the detection of broadcast energy from the local quake rupture zone.

 In the following articles and electronic diagrams I'm going to try and
 exposit what I have learned from my long contact with Crop Circle
 researchers and provide you with what I provided them: the means
 to go and find out for yourself what this is about.  That was my original
 intention and I have been pleased that after these years of research
 the original circuitry is still valid and many of my original suggestions
 about how to do the research have proven correct.  Now it is time for
 a wider number of motivated researchers to enter the field for as
 in the case of the 'HUM' the need is urgent.  As we go along I'll
 try to slant toward each area individually so you can concentrate
 on that which seems applicable to your own needs and interests.

 If you are not planning electronic research I think you will find the
 general discussions and suggestions lead in a fruitful direction,
 perhaps you can carry on from there.  There is much to be found
 which depends on your own personal experience and creativity.
 In the case of the HUM there is much to be explored in which you,
 a living material being, are the only presently known research
 instrument.  I would caution that this research is not without peril,
 and I say this not just to be dramatic.  While we will start on terra-firma
 eventually we will crash off into thickets which at times can bring you
 face to face with very real psychosis, if you are so disposed.

 For the hummers this will be little problem, the hum can drive you
 into all manner of really terrifying experience, we'll have to go pretty
 far to meet up with some of you, but I think you'll be glad for the
 company, nothing is so frightening as to find that you are facing
 the unknown completely alone and isolated, with no one except
 other hummers even caring for what you cannot deny is happening.











 My own personal backgrounds are:  While I am now a photographer
 of puppies and kittens my original career was in commercial broadcast
 engineering.  I have also done extensive electronic design in both analog
 and digital realms, producing electronic equipment for industrial and
 emergency services communications, and broadcast automation
 equipment based on microprocessors.

 Additionally l've been trained in motion picture production
 at  the University of California at Los Angeles  and at
 Twentieth Century Fox Motion Picture Studios. Peculiarly this
 Hollywood background fits into the research, surprisingly hand in glove,
 for much of research is personal attitude, a feeling that somehow all of
 what we experience has a background, as a stage has a back door and
 a full environment outside the play and beyond the sets, props, lights
 and grips pulling on ropes.  Going into this research is discovering that
 stage door and becoming used to the glare of the daylight of actual
 reality so undetectable from the viewpoint of the audience inside the
theater.

 Plato and Shakespeare were of course right, there is much, much more
 to reality than presently meets the eye, we are now making the attempt
 to go out and find it.  One hopes there are not too many garbage
 cans blocking the alley out behind the theater so we might get to
 more interesting viewpoints straightaway.

  WHAT IS A MIND?  In fact, no one knows, or can even come close.
 Without a clear description of just what our most powerful sensorial
 organ is and detailed knowledge of exactly how it works we are quite
 in the dark and fall back instead on rather oversimplified stereotypes
 and projections which are of course the straitjackets of existence.
 While there have been some very expensive projects, particularly in
 Japan, to produce a computer which can mimic human intelligence
 impressive results are still a long way off.














 While recently a computer has, or has almost, beaten a grand master
 at chess following 'classical rules,' there are no reports of computers
 which have honestly fallen in love and suffered the tragedy of
 misplaced allegiance, or even a hint of a computer which actually
 enjoys surfing.

 Having designed microcomputer controlled gear myself I can assure
 you that while these may replace all our jobs they are incapable
 of pulling even close to what we call 'consciousness.'
 What we need to prepare for is the next form of computer, the one that
 develops after we are somewhat further down the road to understanding
 all the 'supernatural' phenomena we must now study.  The next leap in
 technology, if our race can make that leap, will bring a completely new
 stream of  products bound to make the new century even more
 exciting than the last.  Let's get to it, time travel waits for no one,
there
 need to be patents pending.

 I am not going to present a theory, that will require a vast amount of
 research, experiment and study on the parts of many people, just
 as most of the other really unique products of our present age,
 radio, television, computers, mass transit were not all designed by
 one person.  What follows at great length is what could possibly
 be described as an 'extensive string of apparently related data,'
 woven into a peculiar tapestry which includes electronic research
 gear you can build for yourself if you can manage basic electronic
 construction techniques.  The gear is not based on any 'magical'
 principles, it is all very basic and follows every rule of standard
 engineering principles, something I've found rare in this kind of work.

 When we get to the point where the electronics is introduced I will
 provide directions for skipping those parts if you aren't interested in
 actual construction, but that is still a ways ahead.  First a large













 informational base must be established, rather than use graphs and
 charts my own style is to put things together a bit more expositionally.
 This is handy because absorbing the details of large new constructions
 can take time.

 When the Loma Prieta-San Francisco Earthquake struck I knew that
 somehow the world had changed.  My safe little home
 was suddenly seen quite clearly perched on the edge of the deepest
 crack in our planet. I t took a bit of time to find that other worlds
 had fundamentally changed at the same time.  The most important
 of these was the view that Earthquakes are a simple 'snapping twig'
 phenomenon, stress buildup and sudden release.  This was the
 historic geological view of how our planetary  surface produces
 earthquakes.  While at the moment that view basically prevails there
 has been a very effective wedge driven into the side of it, that wedge is
  the recording prior to the earthquake of unexpected changes in the
 geomagnetic field during the weeks and hours just before the quake.

 While these are now a pretty well proven fact they have passed from
 the 'anomalous' to the puzzling-but-acceptable without any wide notice.
 I saw this transition because I had been studying a number of
 books on anomalous occurrences and know that not all previous occurrences
 and reports of Geomagnetic and electrical earthquake precursors
 could be explained within the scientific framework of geology.

 Even though many foreign countries have studied and reported
 geomagnetic disturbances including compass oscillation and low
 frequency signals as earthquake precursors, prior to Loma Prieta the
 occurrence of electromagnetic effects was considered 'controversial,'
 anomalous if considered at all, and therefore unfunded.
 Now the whole area of geology is in the throes of being de-funded
 so apparently everything in this area has become anomalous, even
 earthquakes.  There is a certain self-destructive irony to this.

 This is unfortunate because just behind this first and now solid
 change, there is a whole string of other anomalies of the same nature,
 occurrences very much related to geology and the structure of our









 Earth's crust.  This set of anomalies leads even more clearly into
 regions containing Hums and Crop Circles.  The Loma Prieta Earthquake
 cracked the lid of a Pandora's box open, brilliant if unearthly light is
shining
 through that crack, light which is related also to the glowing spheres
 reported so much lately over several cities and over the fields of
 Britain, light which might be directed successfully at the Taos Hum.

 Let's apply the kind of sudden country to country quick-cut so abused
 by nature documentarians, and find ourselves in another zone of
 massive faulting and huge earthquakes, the Persian Gulf.  Since
 time immemorial and perhaps biblical (see Ezekiel) several phenomena
 involved with  earthquakes have been reported by sailors and are still
   apparently passed off as myth even though reported in respectable
 journals like the Marine Observer.

  One of these is the appearance, sometimes with rumbling like an Earthquake,
 of small to large spoked wheels of light, spinning silently in or just above
  the water.  When I first read about these wheels I found a couple of
details
  most puzzling.  They were described as 'spinning without spinning,' and as
  single wheels spinning in opposite directions even for a single viewer.

 Extensive reading of the reports of these wheels reveals that this means
 that they are actually alternately flashing like the lights on a motion
 picture marquee.  While some of them seem to be spinning smoothly,
 others are flashing so slowly that the method of operation can be clearly
 seen.  The smoothly rotating ones are, like motion pictures, flashing
 fast enough that the motion seems smooth.  There are also rectangles
 and crescents of oscillating light.  The rectangular ones are striped like
 a bumblebee, and the glowing stripes alternate on and off.

 One thing I've found with just about certainty about these lights:
 they are all humming.  This is demanded by the oscillating nature
 of the lights' rotation.  Each sector of light is alternately pulsed
 and that means a hum is produced somewhere, just as you get
 a steady hum at 24 Hz. when you point the proper electronic
 sensor at a movie screen and play the resulting signal through
 a loudspeaker.  Another detail of interest is that the wheels can be small
 or big, from 10 feet across to beyond the horizon in all directions.









 It is impossible to overstate the importance of these spinning wheels
 and their associated hum.  In order to appreciate what this hum means
 we must look for a moment at another hum, the one in our large scale
 power distribution systems.  If it were not for hum we would still be
 either in the era of gaslight, or wandering around amid dense black
 smoke, even thicker than smog.

 This rather bleak alternative is caused by the requirement that in order
 to send electricity to any practical distance, greater than a mile for
 example, you have to give it a continuously varying relationship
 with time.  This is done in our powerhouses with huge electromagnets
 spinning in the centers of huge coils, that's what a generator is.
 This idea was brought into manufacturable reality by Nikola Tesla.
 His main competitor, Thomas Edison, failing to understand this critical
 electrical relationship between time and magnetism could only produce
 practical distribution systems one mile square.  That means that if we
 had stayed with Direct Current, D.C. we would have a power plant
 every square mile in cities, and a grid of power plants every mile in
  the country or else individual power plants on farms.  An impossible
  system with fuel, smoke and boilers everywhere, no hydroelectric possible.

 Tesla's perception of electricity as produced by continuing variation
 through time is called Alternating Current; A.C.  You can distribute
 A.C. for thousands of miles as we are doing all the time because
 suddenly you have use of the 'Transformer,' a device which requires
 that continuous electric change take place or it cannot function.

 Anytime electrical energy flow changes steadily or repetitively with time
  a whole new circumstance, a whole new landscape of opportunity is
 opened up.  In the case of electricity Alternating Current meant a whole
 new realm of existence, the one we have today based on electrical
 devices and machinery of a vast variety.

 In descriptions of electrical equipment much is made of the fact that
 A.C. reverses and that is how it alternates.  Seeing the fundamental
 relationship with time is important because it allows us to do many









 mathematical transformations which are based on time, such as
 the phrase 'Cycles per Second.'  The entire electromagnetic spectrum
 is based on this relationship with time, the term Hz. means 'Cycles per
 second.' It's hard to find a more direct relationship with time.

 So it was with some surprise that I realized that the flashing hum
 associated with the Spinning Gulf Ocean Wheels was an indicator
 of a changing relationship with time, only in the wheels it looked
 like the energy was not electrical so the question became: what
 energy could do this?

 It took me years to find the answer to that question.

 To begin with I have spent good parts of my life living off various aspects
 of our electrical hum.  As a five year old I helped my dad repair other
 families' radios and I soon took it up to help supplement a rather meager
 farm family income.  This gives you an immediate appreciation of hums.
 If it hums, it might work. If it doesn't hum why not? The most basic
 repair techniques, check the power cord and switch, then on to the
 tubes.  Using hum or preventing it in radio, television, audio gear,
 university and broadcast radio situations, electromagnetic hum  came
 to be a life.  Lately it's been supplanted with more interesting products
 of our powerful hum, computers, and an understanding of another
 hum application; strobe-lights, that got me out of what eventually became
 a bit repetitive, dealing with electric hum.  Of course I also did other
repairs.

 So my ears rather perked up when I saw that the incredible power of
 hum might find itself expressed in another energy form, one which
 seemed to be indicating less than mundane characteristics in visible
 operation.  Unique! Glowing wheels which hum.  High powered
 geometries with razor sharp edges, so what else is in the Universe?

 What else? Spheres of course.  Glowing spheres of orange, amber,
 brilliant red, and after checking enough resources almost any color
 of the spectrum.  I've either read or heard in telephone conversation
 of sphere sizes from less than a grain of sand to more than six hundred
 feet in diameter.  These are common to the Persian Gulf, but unlike
 the wheels they are visible over land also, I've been told of thousands
 of these moving in groups over areas of Britain, and in the United States
 Gulf Breeze, Florida is a major spot for watching them.

 While the spinning lights seem hard to find on land spheres are
 virtually everywhere.  These spheres exhibit a number of interesting
 characteristics including a memory for the timing and number of
 flashes directed toward them.  I've seen several reports of people
 flashing either flashlights, car headlights, or bright spotlights at
 spheres and as soon as the flashing is stopped the spheres will
 blink on and off the same number of times as they were flashed,
 with a tight control over flash speed and length so it duplicates
 the original signal flashed at it with some precision.

 This returned signal effect goes much deeper, and becomes an
 electronic mystery discovered by Marconi in his early research
 on radio.  Interestingly Marconi did some of his earliest experiments
 with radio on Salisbury Plain, the same area which has the most
 Crop Circles.  Marconi, and many others, discovered  that when
 he would send out Morse code transmissions parts of these transmissions
 would seem to be reflected back from somewhere, exactly duplicating
 the pulse combinations he had sent.  These returns were sporadic and
 frequently not very clear so he seems never to have investigated
 them much further.

 The problem is straightforward, when you send out a radio signal
 it leaves the antenna at approximately the speed of light and begins
 attenuating (losing strength) at a predictable rate.  While radio
 can take several different paths around our planet and  return
 to the antenna that transmitted it, the echoes return fairly soon.

 The mystery signals return far to late, usually several seconds or more,
 to be 'multi path' or even moon bounced reflections, at one time
 a mysterious radio satellite was postulated as an explanation but
 even though the effect can still be found in modern amateur radio
 communications (it is most frequently heard just as a band
 is 'opening up') it is not thoroughly studied or much remarked on.
 My own suspicion is that it is linked to the spheres, for they are
 the only objects we have so far seen which have some kind of memory
 for chains of on-off flashes, and a penchant for mimicry.

 One sphere I'm particularly aware of is apparently resident in Britain
 inside or under  a location called 'Gold Ball Hill,' which appropriately
 enough sprouts a rather huge and brilliant Gold Sphere now and
 again.  I've reports from several people on that one.
 On another occasion a correspondent of mine wrote of a bright red
 sphere several hundred feet in diameter rising from the sea
 off the coast of Britain.  This is much the same as reports from the
 Persian Gulf.

 These spheres are also active in the radio bands, I've talked to folks
 who've heard hissing and buzzing sounds from radios during their
 appearance, and in reverse the spheres have been seen to suddenly
 appear when a hand held transmitter was activated.  I've also
 noted that they are particularly receivable around 400 MHz., and
 other frequencies including 27 MHz. and 80 MHz.  Revealingly
 the gulf spinning wheels are also known to start up suddenly when
 a ship's radar was switched on.

 While the spinning wheels have many unusual reports attached to
 their appearance the spheres have so many strange attributes that
 they rate whole books.  One by Greg Long, 'Examining the Earthlight
 Theory' relates extensive reports on lists of occurrences of these
 glowing spheres reported by mountain top fire rangers stations.
  Another excellent book, 'Earth Lights Revelation,' by Paul
 Devereux pours over the phenomenon as it is seen in Britain and
 elsewhere including the Brown mountain, Texas.

 While many of the reports are passed off officially as 'Balled
 Lightning,' I've heard so many descriptions of these spheres
 from people who have observed them that the details of them
 are far more puzzling than one would expect from such an
 oversimplified response.

 One of the best examples is of a large red globe several feet in
 diameter which floated over a small English countryside village.
 As it passed low overhead the lights in the village dimmed out
 until they could barely be seen glowing, there is a long string
 of reports of failed power and electrical malfunction during
 appearances of these spheres.

 Each of these phenomena; Glowing spheres, spinning wheels and
 Crop Circles is not free of the others.  While glowing spheres are
 seen in many areas with and without Crop Circles, and they are
 seen a lot in relation to Crop Circles, the appearance of the wheels
 is a little more subtle, and in that direction is a path which leads
 to some incredible insights, and perhaps the  'Taos Hum.'

 After reading everything I could find on the spinning wheels I
 decided that as the wheels were sometimes associated with
 earthquakes and earthquakes are as much a dry land event
 as under the seas, then somewhere there must be some indications
 that spinning wheels appear on land as well.  What I really hoped
 was to discover a way of finding one of these and studying it without
 having to go to the Persian Gulf and basically hang out until some
 unpredictable crowd of variables aligned and 'Voila,' mostly wasted
 time.

 At about that time I picked up a couple of books by John Michell.
 In 'Secrets of the Stones,' and 'The New view over Atlantis'
 I found myself staring not only at the spinning wheels unusual
 shapes engraved in stone among ancient petroglyphs but I could
 see quite clearly in an aerial photograph of the high mountain plains
 of Bolivia not only the straight edged wedges of the gulf wheels
 but their vast size, many miles across, just as in the gulf.
 Here at last a link began to form, and what a link!

 In pictures of the Bolivian Highlands the gulf wheels are picked out
 by perfectly straight lines radiating out from central wheel hubs.
 These lines are visible because local Indian families keep the lines
 clear of brush and debris in perpetuity.  It is stated that the reason
 for this is that all supernatural, mystical or religious experiences,
 appearances of the Virgin Mary for example take place only along
 these lines.

 According to John Michell in 'New View over Atlantis,' the Aymara
 Indians told one researcher that at each landmark on the straight
 tracks resides a spirit.  Small versions of the spinning wheels
 are seen laid out in stone patterns called 'medicine wheels' as in
 Wyoming.

 In ancient times the hub centers of these wheels had temples or
 shrines built on them, these have been replaced in modern times
 by Churches, which are also known in England to have been placed
 in many cases on or next to ancient shrines such as standing stones.
 In fact the link between church siting and ancient sites is a major
 feature of quite a number of interesting books on ancient megalithic
 sites in Britain.  'The Sun and the Serpent' by Hamish Miller and Paul
 Broadhurst examines this in minute detail, with surprising results.

 South America has a plentiful supply of indications that the humming
 wheels appear on land, for here the fan shaped wedges and extended
 straight lines are visible on a vast scale laid out on the highlands
 near Nasca, Peru.  Thumb through any book on the Nasca Lines
 and note the sheer scale of these markings, some of the straight lines
 go through mountains and out the other side.  Students of these lines
 have remarked at what incredible surveyors laid these lines out,
 since they could not see over the mountains to where each line
 had to continue, but from an aerial view the lines continue
 straightaway and perfect, continuing for many, many miles more.

 One can tell quite easily that a major portion of the Nasca lines
 is made up of these lines and wedges.  The fan wedges can
 be identified in the many rectangles seen from the aerial photos,
 these rectangles are symmetrically narrower at one end than the
 other, a good clue that they point toward some distant hub, but
 the scale being worked at here is so large that the wedges
 and lines have been photographed from our orbiting space shuttles.
  Near Nasca the wheels are frequently seen as one single
 wedge rather than whole fanned out circles of them.

 Having satisfied myself that indeed the wheels do appear in some form
 on land and that this appearance is linked with as many supernatural
 occurrences as they are at sea, I was quite surprised when just a little
 while ago another assumption I had made appears to be true.

 There is at least one very visibly picked out hub for extended straight
 lines, lines which appear to represent the humming spinning but
 not spinning wheels on land.  This particular hub and wheel spokes
 must have been very important, at least a thousand or so years ago
 when it was built, for instead of rather crudely cleaned lines the
 spokes of the wheel have been turned into unusually broad roads,
 many of them thirty feet wide, carefully planned, with built up sides
 and a distinctly odd characteristic common to the Nasca wheel lines
 of passing right through rocky outcroppings and blockages without
 turning aside from the arrow straight course.

 Built at the wheel hub is a structure which ranks with any of the ancient
 megalithic stone constructions found anywhere on our globe. This
 structure is itself very curious in in that it seems to not have been lived
 in very much, it may have been purely for ceremony although this
 is our own western viewpoint as we do not really know just how
 the builders of all these vast stone piles really intended  they be
 used.

  By now you have guessed that I'm referring to Chaco Canyon,
 New Mexico, which by this account has led us to a site which
 may at one time have been home to a really vast hummer of a
 wheel.  It is not necessarily with too much surprise then that we
 find that we are now only a little way from Taos, New Mexico,
 where so much trouble begins with a penetrating hum which even
 very intense research cannot find inside our scientific reach.

 So here we are at that stage door I was mentioning, about to
 face the piercing light of an actual reality outside.  That door is
 the realization that there is another form of energy outside our
 technological experience, and that it has profound effects on we
 humans.  History records in all these stone monuments that globally
 litter the landscape required a lot of very real effort to build and that
 humans in virtually every place have spent considerable time relating
 to the energies of these wheels.  I suggest energies here because
 eventually that is the conclusion you reach.  Electricity is the one
 energy form of a really supernatural nature that we have come to
 have a pretty good control over, enough to create our modern
 electric cultures, such is the power of electric energy and hums.

 Electricity appears to have companion energy forms, once you get
 over the idea that there are any forms of energy besides the ones
 we confront daily you begin to discover that just beyond whatever
 energy drives these wheels there are still more, an unknown number
 of future possibilities once we find some way to relate to the energy
 which makes the circles so powerful.

 Crop Circles are of course tied in with this as there have been some
 of these which have floor patterns identical to displays by the Gulf
 Wheels and the Crop Circles also have the peculiar straight or
 perfect edges that the Gulf Wheels display.  The spheres are also
 tied in although their role is unclear, and how all this gets wrapped
 in a package with the mysterious earthquake precursors and
 earthquakes themselves is the realm to be studied, the world
 outside the theater.

 There are is a most suggestive relation between characteristics
 of these spinning circles and the hum heard by so many.  Some
 reports of the Taos Hum state that for them the hum 'switches on,'
 it does not fade in from a low level but appears abruptly.
 That is common to the appearance of the wheels.  Many reports
 on these I've read state that the ocean 'flickers' a few times, then
 suddenly the wheels flash on, they don't seem to appear slowly.

 I've also read that for some hum perceivers there is a sudden 'Ping'
 followed by hearing unaccountable voices.  That leads us to another
 trail, this time one previously walked by Julian Jaynes in his book:
 'The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind.'
 Jaynes' essential thesis is that the ancient civilizations were formed
 and run on what amount to 'hallucinations' of voices in the mind.
 While we can natter on endlessly about the precise meaning of the
 word 'hallucination' it means basically perceiving something which
 is 'unreal' as 'real.' Hallucination is the absolute terror of the western
 mind, and many hummers and the other folks I've referred to are
 hiding in their respective closets because they fear that they will
 be branded with the scarlet letter 'H' on their foreheads, such is our
 intense western distaste for things of really unusual nature.

 Jaynes is a professor of psychology at Princeton University and
 his book is no joke.  I suggest each hum hearer should give this
 book a thorough read because it is saying that the voices, particularly,
 are not only from 'outside' but are what commanded our ancestors
 to build all these great stone temples.  Jaynes is adamant that
 psychology and psychiatry should change their basic view of these
 voices because he insists that they are not the 'fault' of the people
 perceiving them but rather have something to do with the larger
 issues of what a mind is, and particularly what the ancient
 'Gods' really were.

 In one section he shows how this works by the statement of a
 South American Indian Shaman.  It goes basically like this:
 'When the voices of our gods speak to us from our idols we
 flow from the jungles and build all these great temples that
 you people find so curious.  Then when, after a time, the
 voices cease to tell us what to do our civilizations fall and we
 disintegrate back into the jungles we came out of, hiding
 our idols in the deepest, most secret places until they speak again.'

 The idols referred to here are the various stone statues and figurines
 associated with all these ancient religions, although the reference
 seems to apply specifically to the smaller stone figurines, ones which
 are light enough to be carried off and hidden.  Jaynes premise is
 that the last time the gods faded away was the first time man became
 truly an independent being, living by his or her own wits without this
 peculiar internal vocal drive.

 We find evidence of this in the writings of John Michelle, who suggests
 that during classical Greek times the 'Gods' were very much in evidence
 and all of the many Greek religions worshipped these at  the temples
 we see the remains of.  At that time, however, something began to fade.
 The powerful effects of the Gods began to diminish.  While we have
 few real records of this time Herodotus, a historian of a later age
 writes that in the temples at night (and the Hum is heard primarily at
 night) when the rituals reach their peak mists would form, essentially
 filling the entire temple.  Out of these mists would step previous
ancestors,
 apparently in the flesh, for a night of partying and conversation, along
 with correct answers to questions such as 'where did the deed to our
 property disappear to?'

 Now what really seems to be being described here is that whatever the
 'Gods' really are in our own modern terms they are subject to cycles
 of a timing which appears geologic.  At the same time one might
 suspect that if a cycle has an end point that far back then there might
 be a deepening loss of their impact until the cycle starts up the other
 side again and whatever is at the base of this rather global 'Gods'
 consciousness strengthens once again.

 Something of that nature appears to be happening now.  As I've
 studied the Crop Circles I've met many dowsers and have come to
 respect their craft, although I'm still incapable of this myself.
 Many of these folks agree that the energy lines which they douse
 are expanding rapidly, lines that were once like creeks are now
 turning into energetic rivers.  On our planetary surface large
 changes are taking place and while for some people this may
 be experienced as a larger emotional range than before for
 some part of the population the beginning of this process is
 the hearing of an unstoppable, unfindable hum.

 Tied up in this idea of supernatural cycles is also the possibility
 that the exact location of these wheel hubs wanders over time,
 and that may be why the ancient centers eventually fall into disuse.
 Chaco Canyon may therefore be a kind of 'cinder cone' remnant
 of past glories still alive with the equivalent of remnant magnetism.

 The actual center of the wheel hub can be expected to have
 wandered a bit, although the time between the Anasazi Indians,
 who appear to have built it and now is fairly short so it might not
 be too far away. In any event the size of the wheels in Peru
 suggests that the reach of these things can be enormous. A recent
 program which described Chaco Canyon as the hub of the wheel
 spoke aligned roads stated that the known roads found already
 cover an area of one hundred thousand square miles.

 While there are many strange twists in what we call
 'natural law' found in the spinning wheels, these several catch
 my attention, because they make some forms of research very
 difficult.

 The most immediate features of the wheels that struck my mind
 are the sharp edges of the lighted wedges, and particularly the
 descriptions that indicate that the 'Square Law' is not obeyed.
 The square law simply states that as radiation of any kind, and
 particularly light and radio spreads out over space from any
 beginning point it loses intensity.  This is a common experience
 even with automobile headlights, the farther something is out
 in front of you the dimmer it is.  Mathematically speaking the
 exact statement is that if you double the distance from the light
 source you get only one quarter of the energy at that point in space.

 It is quite clear from various descriptions that this 'natural law' is
 either not being followed by the spinning wheel energy, or their
 real construction is radically different than what it appears to be.

 The real point is that it should be easy to find the source of the
 'Taos Hum' by simply moving in a direction which increases the
 volume of it, proceeding until you get to where it peaks and then
 begins to diminish as you continue on.  It is perhaps an indicator
 of the connection that this is untrue both for the wheel lights and
 for the hum.  The wheel lights have as much energy being displayed
 as glowing light at the ends of the spokes as they do at the hubs.

 This means that anywhere inside the circle of the wheel the energy
 level could easily be the same, this would provide no sense of direction
 based on sound intensity, you could wander all over and not discover
 any apparent directionality by volume level alone.  In fact you could
 wander all over a pretty vast area and not escape the sound of one
 wheel, and the aerial shots of Bolivia suggest quite a number of these
 hubs can be active as the lines from these cross over each other
 as they radiate out over great distances.  Many 'hummers' describe
 a sound which has several tones to it, this could mean they are
 perceiving several wheels at once.

 In the Persian Gulf examples there are instances of several wheels
 appearing at the same time, sometimes in geometric formations
 so we cannot trust that there is only one source to the hum.

 If we bring in the Crop Circles phenomena at this point we can note
 again that a most outstanding feature of these is the very sharp clean
 edges they develop as they are formed, and the way they can be hundreds
 or more feet in diameter with the outside grain just as bent and fashioned
 as that at the hub.  Crop Circles also indicate that this spinning wheel
 energy has real clout, it is not just visions in the minds of superstitious
 primitive peoples.  It should take many, many kilowatts of equivalent
 electrical energy to bend all that crop by heating, and indications of
 heating, including crop charring, are one of the characteristics of
 Crop Circles.

 MAGNETISM is one of the common links between these phenomena,
 either steady, direct magnetism as seen by compasses swinging out
 of normal position or effects in the Electromagnetic field as in the
 local 'quieting' of the  ELF electromagnetic spectrum prior to the
 Loma Prieta Earthquake.  Additionally, Compasses near other 'supernatural'
 phenomena can spin, which indicates a ULF (Ultra Low Frequency,
            under 10 Hz. or cycles per second) signal of  a local strength
greater
 than the Earth's magnetic field, considerably greater in fact.

 Some friends of mine working in fields at what amounts to 'Ground Zero'
 for Crop Circles reported that when a large sphere 'switched on' across
 the field from their observation point a high-quality magnetic aircraft
 compass immediately changed from its correct northerly point by a
 deviation of fifteen degrees.  When the globe suddenly switched off,
 the compass returned to its normal indication of direction.

 There are other reports of hand-compass (the kind of compass you
 can carry around in your pocket, as for example a scout compass)
 peculiarities around Crop Circles, and these indicate some kind of
 very local and quite strong deviations in the magnetic field within
 a crop circle formation.  A  thorough research effort called
 'Project Argus' showed quite definitely that Crop Circles frequently
 have a low-level (50 nano-Tesla) patch of magnetic deviance which
 is inside or near the circles but seldom repeats in other parts of
 the same field and in other control sample fields.

 This research was most difficult, it involved carefully laying out a
 grid pattern over a circle and then sliding a high-quality
 magnetometer along a rope placed on the grid lines.  This is
 very tedious and difficult research and it demonstrates the lengths
 it is sometimes necessary to go to discover the fine details others
 have missed or have reported anecdotally.  Another form of research
 which turned up positive results deals with various levels of
 electrostatic charge, unexpected accumulations or depletions
 of electrons which indicate that electricity and magnetism both
 turn up repeatable measurable anomalies in Crop Circles.

 In reference to the Taos Hum, some percipients of this tone-set
 report that on 'bad' days, when the hum is particularly strong and
 obnoxious, a distinct sensation of magnetism, or an effect which can be
 mistaken for magnetism, is present to the degree that it 'shakes the
 bones.'  While our bones are technically non-magnetic in a bit I'll
 discuss the fact that our skeletons are 'piezoelectric,' bone produces
 small electric flow when stressed, as in jawbones chewing, and
 therefore also express physical stress when a voltage is applied to
 them.  These effects are not powerful, crunching a carrot might only
 generate a few millivolts of electricity from Jawbone end to end,
 but it is another indicator that many electrical phenomena take place
 without our awareness and have been taking place since the 'invention'
 of bone.

 Earthquake precursor detection is also heavy on magnetic effects.
 One experiment performed by some precursor researchers revolves
 around indications that magnets change their intensity, sometimes
 to the point of losing the magnetic effect altogether, before large
 earthquakes.  The presently studied Geomagnetic field effects
 related to precursors are Ultra Low Frequency deviations in the
 geomag field around .01 to 3 Hz.  One of the circuits described later
 in this article is a high sensitivity device for exploring this difficult
 realm.  While the magnets experiments are controversial the ULF
 detection of electromagnetic precursors is the one point where
 scientific respectability for the research is being established.

 Among the most peculiar ancient applications I've read of for magnetism is
 the use of it as found in small pieces of magnetite, frequently from
 iron meteorites, to find the 'gods.'  This application requires the
 making of a basic compass by hanging a small piece of magnetite
 on a thin grass strip or a single length of hair.  While this could
 indicate simply the Earth's magnetic field as with a modern compass,
 the actual use was quite unusual, for apparently a researcher talking
 to native Indians found that rather than being used as a large scale
 compass this magnetic arrangement was used to find stones and
 rock outcroppings which contained  'spirits,' because when near them
 the magnetite would point at them.  This indicates something very
 close to the appearance of the spheres where a compass is twisted
 aside from its true reading by some kind of local field distortion.
 This effect of the 'Gods' is no minor matter.  A compass, especially
 made by hanging it from a hair, is not necessarily very sensitive.
 A clearer indication of this phenomena, also associated in some
 way with the 'Gods,' comes from research done by Paul Deveraux
 in Britain around standing stone circles which were also apparently
 used in some way relative to the 'Gods.'

 This research, described in 'Places of Power,' consists of magnetic
 measurements using a variety of gear from simple compasses to
 magnetometers which showed that in some circles of standing stones a
 single stone will exhibit magnetism with peculiar characteristics.
 It should be noted that these stones are not magnetite and really
 have no discernible reason for being magnetic, yet the measurements
 show 'bands' of magnetism on some stones.  These bands are strong
 enough to deviate a compass, and the most peculiar aspect of this
 magnetism is that its intensity level and indeed the positions of the
 bands themselves can change dramatically in periods as short as
 ten minutes or less.  This may not seem important but to someone who has
 'played' with magnetism all his life it is terribly wrong.

 Magnets are usually very stable objects.  The material used in the
 magnets on the backs of loudspeakers, for example, loses only
 about five percent of its magnetic power in one hundred years.
 To have any 'natural' magnetic stone changing levels from strong
 to none and back again in a few minutes stretches credibility, although
 judging by the measurement methods the credibility failure belongs to
 the stone, not to the researchers.  When natives of various sorts tell
 researchers that these specific stones contain 'spirits' we find
 that we are dealing with yet another invisible landscape, of which there
 are many around us all the time.  Radio is one of these, it passes through
 us every day and most people have no conception of its characteristics
 but if you work at it long enough you find that 'seeing' landscapes from
 the point of view of a traveling electromagnetic wave reveals quite a
 different world than we see through our 'natural' senses.

 In the 'Radio World' we are largely invisible. Radio waves pass right
 through us.  Radio waves do react and modify their energy patterns
 in response to the proximity of metals due to their conductivity.
 A city, as 'seen' by radio waves, is visible by the metallic construction
 of the frames of the buildings but for many wavelengths the concrete
 and stone edifices and coatings on these frames do not exist.

 By the same token ULF electromagnetic waves below, say, 10Hz.
 as in Earthquake precursor detection do not even 'see' the crust of
 our planet, in the realm of these waves we are hanging in space
 above the metallic surface below.  While this allows us to
 essentially 'see' any kind of energy generating body below us
 it is not at all apparent from everyday life that this is possible even
 though it may eventually be very important. Metal detectors work on
 this principal.

 We can only see light and feel heat.  The rest of the electromagnetic
  spectrum is invisible to us.  In order to see it we have to visualize each
  'landscape,' in our minds, tailoring it to each frequency for it varies
over the
 whole spectrum.  This method can be applied to other energy forms such as
 the spinning wheel energy but we don't have much data so the picture
 is still very fuzzy.

 If the question is whether there is another single energy, let alone many
 besides electricity I can personally give that an affirmative answer with
 the following description.

 Before visiting the Crop Circles in Oregon I had heard many descriptions
 both written and verbal of getting 'zapped' in a circle.  I was curious
about
 this effect because the conditions under which this could happen given
 the damp nature of Britain seemed out of place with what I knew of
 static electricity. While some of this was suggested to be 'eddy currents'
 or stray power-line effects I had heard from friends that this could happen
 far from power-lines and under circumstances which just didn't sound to
 me like reasonable situations to feel small or large shocks in.

 On my first visit to an Oregon Crop Circle I spent most of a full day
 in the circle and because the appearance of this circle was near
 a freeway and had been publicized all over the West Coast in the
 evening news the night before I saw more than a thousand people pass
 through in one day.  It was after all, the first publicized Crop Circle on
the
 West Coast.  One had appeared the year before near Kennewick, Wash.,
 but it was not publicized in any large scale manner.

 As I was using my research gear, which consists of a large
 coil for geomag research and a rather curious looking box which
 contains the amplifier for this coil and other experiments, I was
 quite noticeable and many of these folks stopped to make comments
 and ask questions.  During the day from time to time women who
 were passing through the circle (and curiously not men) would
 remark that they felt some kind of powerful energy, especially
 in the east satellite circle.  Several of these reported getting what
 felt like electric shocks, some of an intense nature, while standing
 in that circle.  I stood in that same circle myself and while I didn't
 feel any electrical sensations when I bent to examine the crop swirl
 in the center of the circle I could distinctly feel some kind of energy
 flowing rapidly up from the surface of the circle.  It is the first time
I've
 ever noticed anything of a strong and unusual energetic nature and I could
 feel it very distinctly.  From time to time I could, however, feel an
unusual
 sensation which I found others calling being 'nipped' or pinched, on the
toes.
 At one point a rather large scale crowd discussion of this effect and the
  electrical ones developed, which is reported in a separate article
 as it is just too large an issue to bring up here. I found from this
discussion
 that 'nipping' seemed to have an 'electrical' component, but it was
different
 from the ones mentioned later in this article.  That's part of why I think
we are
 dealing with several different, though perhaps similar energies here.  I
also
 became aware that 'electrical' to many people can mean several different
 but loosely alike experiences, none of which to me are exactly electrical.

 It is rather disconcerting to feel that something not unlike a rather
 stiff breeze is blowing in your face as you bend to examine what
 looks like a solid, normal ground surface below a swirl of wheat.
 Very curiously I noted that the sensation did not seem to be on the
 facial surface but started at a rather unreasonable point about
 an inch behind the face.  This was my first encounter with what
 seemed at the time to be, and still do, energy sources which have no
 precedence within our long electrical history.

 A month later I visited a second circle just a ways from the first.
 At sunset most of the batteries in my research gear faded away
 simultaneously with the sun.  Sunrise and sunset are the most
 active times in Crop Circles.  After other visitors left, my wife and I were
alone
 in the Crop Circle. I was examining a handful of wheat
 heads trying to see if I could notice anything unusual, although this
 was difficult in the approaching darkness.

 As I was sitting still there is no reason to expect that I might suddenly
 generate a rather substantial charge of static electricity.
 Suddenly my index finger was being 'jolted' by a very noticeably
 pulsing series of what might have been easily mistaken for electricity,
 although why a group of wheat-heads should do this kind of thing
 might be a pretty deep mystery all by itself.  My long experience
 of electricity, especially my childhood during the shock-laden
 vacuum-tube age immediately told me that what was zinging my
 finger tip was most definitely not electricity.  While virtually everyone
 who is not experienced this thoroughly with electricity would have
 mistaken it for electric pulses I was immediately aware that it was
 clearly not.  I cannot emphasize this enough.  There are many, many
 reports of people who, involved in 'supernatural' occurrences such
 as poltergeists and others, report feeling the sensation of electric
 shock.  I'm even aware of a particular hum hearer who is practically
 being debilitated by shocks.

 I must sincerely say to these people that while it may seem like
 an electric shock there is every likely hood that it is not, that it
 is another energy form very much like electricity but the feeling
 of the details of the shock are quite different from electricity.
 In fact I can state that if you are not personally attached to an electric
 wire, petting a cat and producing static electricity or rubbing rubber
 soled shoes across a rug you are probably feeling this other energy
 form rather than electricity.

 The differences which can be described are profound.  Rather than
 a fingertip enveloping sensation of intense tingling as with electricity
 this unknown energy form penetrates the finger leaving the skin surface
 unaffected, a rather startling experience in itself.  At the same time the
 energy flow from each short pulse seems to take the pattern of a
 forked lightning-bolt inside the finger and hand, something which is
unlikely for
 electricity because the salty-wet nature of our bodies tends to even
 out electric flow rather than allow it to form sharp, sensible channels.

 It is definitely slower than electricity, which travels through conductors
 and semi-conductors at a good percentage of the speed of light.
 I could feel each pulse travel almost to my wrist, forking as it went.

 The pulse train, which lasted for about ten seconds, allowing a long
 time to study it, was running at about 8 to 12 Hz., just a little faster
 than one could count the individual pulses, and from the first pulse
 onward each pulse was a little weaker than the previous pulse.
 The pulse train held its frequency absolutely steady as it faded away,
 which is unlike various electric discharge mechanisms which are
 usually time dependent versus the charge available.  The pulses faded
 away quite linearly, slowly disappearing below the level of sensation,
 another characteristic unlike static electricity which usually delivers
 one, or at best a few pulses of fair intensity and then shuts down.

 Another unusual feature of this experience was that at no time did I detect
 any twitching or other muscle response which is almost unavoidable
 with electric shock.  In fact as I sat there after the experience rather
 savoring it I realized that while the initial first pulse and the beginning
 of the pulse train were very strong there was not the slightest
 hint that any muscles reacted to it, very unusual given that the
 intensity should easily have involved at least the muscles of the
 palm.  I've received many smaller electric shocks and there
 is a completely involuntary reaction which either twitches muscles
 or even a larger reaction which pulls the hand away from the shock.

 To have this all issuing from a small bundle of wheat-heads was
 totally perplexing as there is no expectation that such a physical
 circumstance would produce any electricity at all.

 After this point I began viewing the various reports about Crop Circle
 and paranormal experiences quite differently.  As with almost any
 human learning  there is nothing so convincing as actually
 experiencing something yourself.  Apparently it is not hard to find
 this energy around Crop Circles as many British researchers
 have gotten themselves zapped working in them.

 This is, however, not the only energetic sensation to be felt in Crop
 Circles.  Pat Delgado, one of the most experienced of British
 researchers into the Crop Circle phenomena is seen in a video
 clip standing in the center of a large circle remarking on how
 intense the vertical flow of energy is and how you can step into and out of
it.

 My Crop Circle experience was two years ago.  Since that time
 I have been doing my reading about these various energetic
 realms with rather a new viewpoint for if you insert only the electric-
 like energy into many of these reports they make a lot more sense.
 After a time I've built up a list of characteristics for this energy but
 they are sketchy and as I've not been able to duplicate the experience
 I cannot say that I've moved forward as much as I might have liked.

 Considering this energy slowly builds another landscape, a way of
 'seeing' with visualization as I've just previously described with radio
 waves.  This landscape is different than what we perceive but most
 tellingly parallels the 'sacred' landscapes described by Shamans and
 other native students of unusual realms.

 The major feature I've gotten from my studies is that if one compares
 this to magnetism one finds that rather than iron being a concentrator
 for it stone may be.  At the same time magnetism seems directly related to
 it as is suggested by the measurements of unusual magnetic stripes
 and patches found on rocks which seem to have been of special
 interest to ancient humans.  What seems real here is that besides
 our own technological means of dealing with magnetism and
 electricity there is another technology expressed by the application
 of stone as a concentrator of this energy.

 The stone rings seen all over Britain, and all over the world, are
 places where this energy is being related to by ancient peoples.
 It is interesting that these circles are also places where from time
 to time people perceive various forms of hums, just like the hum hearers,
 but these hums are usually transient and intermittent.  Circle hums,
 like Taos Hum, are only heard by a portion of the population.

 Slowly an even larger picture appears and through much reading
 one finds that this energy form begins to stand out much like a
 rather large hippopotamus trying to hide under a rather small tea-mat.

 GEOMETRIES are of course a large part of the circles, of prehistoric
 ruins as in ancient Egypt, and of electronics.  In radio for example
 it is precision geometries which produce successful transmitters.
 In the coils and vacuum tubes geometry which is sloppy produces
 results which are less than satisfactory.  As one raises the frequencies
 of radio this becomes even more true.  The key to the cel-phone and
 satellite communication is extensive mathematical and mechanical
 control over the geometry; size and shape of the operational elements.

 The production of our modern technological world is as much  due to
 advanced methods of understanding and building complex geometric
 objects as it is an understanding of electrical current flows.  In a
television
 set, for example, it takes very precise geometric understanding of magnetic
 fields to produce a picture on the screen which is both true in color and
 not drastically misshapen. This understanding cannot just be theoretical.
 To produce the high-quality picture on a computer monitor requires the
 solution of many problems with magnetism and the effects of winding
 precision coils and driving them.

 The understanding of complex electromechanical geometries under
 huge loads and large forces is the key to building the electric generators
 which drive all our electric power.  These were the geometries understood
 by Tesla and continued into the present day.

 When it comes to picking out a tiny, weak signal from a satellite
 orbiting Jupiter as we do today, large dish-shaped antennas of
 very high accuracy surface curvature geometries are necessary.
 The power and meaning of geometry in these electrical pursuits is
 telling, so it is quite compelling when in fields here and there all over
 the globe we find indications of another form of precision geometry
 in the Crop Circles.  This geometry is both foreign and artistic,
 expressed in clean straight lines and beautiful curves, circles and complex
 patterns.

 So difficult are the complex shapes of 'pictograms' to produce by
 hand that it becomes difficult not to suspect that behind these
 geometries there lies some kind of intelligence as there is intelligence
            associated with human radio, at least in the production of radio
waves.

 It is now relatively well established that the stone circles have the same
 kind of subtle 'errors' in their construction as Crop Circles have, and
there
 is much reason to suspect that ancient peoples built these stone
 structures either to remember the positions of circles after they were
 gone, or perhaps for larger reasons.

 If we go back to the Persian Gulf and our lighted wheels and other shapes
 we find the same precision geometry in the sharp and precise edges of
 the light patterns is remarked upon by many observers.
 It is at this point that we begin to see that there may be a link between
 this new energy form and our own radio waves, for there are reports
 of lighted spinning crescents which suddenly became visible and
 invisible when a ships' radar transmitter is switched on and off.
 A radar transmitter creates electrical stress across regions of space, in
 this case the space around the ship.  The sudden 'switching on' of the
 crescents may show that this new energy form is a kind of stress
 across space also, or that it is sensitive to electric stress.

 A relationship has also been seen between the glowing spheres and
 electric lines, which they sometimes follow and loop around as though
 responding to some sense of the patterns of energy on the lines.  At the
 same time these spheres have been seen drifting in what seemed to
 be rather exploratory ways around high-powered television transmission
 towers.  There are also reports of people using Citizens Band radio
 transmissions (about 27 MHz ) and inadvertently stimulating spheres
 into their glowing state.  I've had a conversation with a British
 colleague who said his brother was talking to him on a cel-phone and
 whenever the cel-phone was transmitting he found himself inside a
 vertical column of thousands upon thousands of glowing spheres of
 many colors descending around him like a huge waterfall, an effect
 which disappeared when he switched off the cel-phone.

 The ability of the glowing spheres to mimic the coded flashes of
 light directed at them from car headlamps, flashlights or more brilliant
 spotlights seems to be a part of the peculiar mimic delayed reception
 radio signals which persist to this day.  Somehow a sphere senses
 the coded signal, stores it, then resends it.  The spheres do not seem
 to interpret the codes, however, they simply repeat them with high
 precision, such high precision in fact that the return radio signals
exactly duplicate the frequencies of the sending stations.  One wonders
 what kind of physics can do this, what kind of structure exists just out
 of sight which can receive, remember and duplicate radio or light signals
 without visible mechanical methods?

As one reads more and more in these areas, comparing to this rather
unusual idea of a second form of energy one begins to realize that
in some way quite outside our physics these various spheres
are doing something which is more than remarkable.

I've mentioned how important hums are to our present societies, how
it was the knowledgeable application of hum by Tesla that has allowed
the creation of our modern electric cultures by understanding the
possibilities inherent in giving magnetism a constantly varying relationship
with time inside the confines of an electric power generator.  We have
of course since then taken massive advantage of the other ways
electromagnetic energy relates to time, as in the vast number of
radio frequencies we employ in our global scale communications
systems.

After careful consideration of this new energy form I've begun to think
that when you begin to employ it in the same way, that is varying,
pulsing, resonating or in other ways bringing it under the same kinds of
control we have with electric power, one finds that time itself may
be a variable.

I think that there is every possibility that the previous industrial scale
application of what is essentially an energy based in close relationship
with stone was in the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Babylonia, Sumer,
Greece and a vast number of others except us.

One also finds a rather sad tale of people struggling over and over
again to regain the glories of previous days as the level of this energy
sinks lower and lower like water in a reservoir.

First consider the single standing stone found in so many sizes and
so many places throughout the world.  The geometry of these is
for the most part virtually untouched.  A stone is selected in some
way as being particularly 'alive' with the energy we are now discussing.
It is located carefully in what is fairly widely considered to be a
fortuitous spot, either over some underground source of more of this
energy, or of some relative energy.  Siting is crucial here, apparently
there are 'fountains' of energy spouting from the ground, like artesian
springs with high pressure.   Under stimulation of some kind the
energy is set into oscillation, a hum may be heard in response.

We know what is happening when this is done to a radio tower for
each of these employs repetitive high-frequency cycling to produce
that effect which we now build businesses over; broadcast communications.
On each radio tower a 'ball' or wad of electrons is being moved by the
electronic machinery of the transmitter.  The wad of electrons travels up
and
down the tower, piling up at each end before rapidly draining to the
other end.  This is only slightly simplified from the actual occurrence.

When the wad of electrons 'piles up' at one end of the tower it is not
radiating radio waves.  Very soon, however, the imbalance of electrons
begins to reassert itself and the wad begins to rapidly drain through the
tower to the opposite end of the antenna.  This flow is what is causing
the radiant wave to leave the tower.  Radiated energy increases
as the flow picks up, then begins to drop as most of the electrons
begin to pile up at the opposite end of the antenna. The energy lost
to this radiance is replaced by the transmitter and the cycle begins again.
On the antenna of a standard broadcast radio antenna this process
is taking place at around one million times per second (550 KHz to
1.6 MHz).  The rapid rate caused by the very light nature of electrons
and their love of traveling near the speed of light up and down the towers.

Our expanding technology has spent a lot of time increasing the ability
to do this rapid jiggling of electrons, cel-phones use frequencies
around nine hundred million jiggles or oscillations per second, microwave
ovens work at about two billion four hundred fifty thousand oscillations
per second, radar works at even higher frequencies.

This new energy we are researching seems much slower than
electricity, although if it is time variant the idea of a frequency is
somewhat distorted.

If I was accurate in detecting that one can feel this new energy traveling
inside ones finger, then the speed of travel must be very slow.
The tendency of many of the effects of this energy to show up as hums
is also indicative of some kind of slow motion relative to electricity,
there is a tendency be limited by the characteristics of an energy
form, a slow energy could mean that you can't really develop very
rapid oscillations under normal circumstances.

Standing stones, as seen in ancient stone circles, are frequently crude
towers.  The geometry used is very natural. A long slender stone
is turned upright and one end is buried in the ground.  The lack of
polished geometries suggests that there may be plenty of power
available and one need not struggle to develop sophisticated
antennas.

Even then the power may have been fading.  The advance in construction
of megalithic building may be from single stones to circles, on to henges
and  then into the greater geometric accuracy of the polished stone column
with heavy stone top and bottom as seen in the classic Egyptian temple.
This advance may have been driven by a need to constantly increase
the perfection of the energy radiators, the columns, in order to exert
sufficient energy for the stone temple to produce results. A gentleman
named Yagi did this for high frequency radio antennas.

There is an analog to this fading energy in the geomagnetic field.

For as long as we have been accurately measuring it the strength
of the Geomagnetic field has been diminishing.  Projecting this
curve, which resembles that of a capacitor discharging, backwards in
time it is possible that the Egyptians lived during a time when the
field was about fifteen times as strong as the one we use on our compasses
today.  It is possible that this relates to the action of unusual energies,
but while they seem to be increasing now there is no abnormal change
in the geomag field intensity yet.

If we consider the standing stones as alternative energy radio
towers, i.e. resonant lengths of 'conductor' which allow pulses of
energy to travel back and forth from end to end, we lack only one thing,
a source for the oscillating energy with which to turn them from
simple boulders into active expressions of effects we still
do not understand.

Egypt is of course, not that awfully far from the Persian Gulf.  Lighted
wheels, with their inherent hum, might be suspected as a potential
'natural' source of pulsing energy, for they are in many cases described
as flashing quite sharply and at many speeds from a pulse or two per
second up.  Curiously I've never found a top end on the pulse speed
for these, but there are reports of spinning 'patches of light' and one
wonders whether these might be pulsing fast enough that the persistence
of vision we use so effectively in projecting motion pictures is turning
them into a steady blur rather than discrete spinning.  While it
may be no more than a guess my reading of the reports seems to
suggest that the general frequency range of these is possibly between
1 or 2 Hz., and say 90 to 100 Hz where all sense of marquee motion
fades out.  The reports are not necessarily clear in this respect so
these may be very inaccurate guesses.

It might, therefore, be interesting to see whether perhaps the Egyptians,
being after all human as we, didn't try to indicate what they were doing
in some way. So with wheels and glowing golden spokes and
lines, and perhaps a sense that the glowing spheres are tied in here too,
take a look at whatever we can find of Egyptian remnants and see if
we sense any connection between the Gulf Wheels and Egypt.
The answer is not unlike shooting fish in a barrel, the finest example
of this is good 'ole King TUT, check out his funereal mask, crook and flail.
All you see is golden lines and dark spaces between.  The red glowing
spheres turn up all over Egyptian history, but in an interesting turn
of fate these have all been called images of the sun, even though they
are frequently bright red.  Take a look yourself, at any really good set
of books you find on Egypt and with the new view of these spinning
wheels, rectangular line sets and globes in mind open your eyes.

The infamous Crook and Flail, signs of the mighty God Osiris,
are nothing but the lines and wheels.  The crook in fact seems to
describe a common event reported in the collected descriptions
of the lighted wheels.  In the Persian Gulf  quite a number
of reports remark on how patches of oscillating lines traveling
along the ocean surface suddenly change to spinning wheels.
Examine Tut's crook and see if you can't find some faint hint of
agreement. These traveling rectangular patches have been seen
on land also.

In Bolivia the lines and hubs cleared by native Indians appear to
remain in place for what may be several centuries or longer.
This suggests that location is very specific for land based wheels.
What happens, though, when a lighted wheel, or pulsing lighted
rectangle has a large columned temple built on top of it?
Again we could refer to Herodotus and the same description
used earlier about late night ceremonies resulting in mists forming.

This association of mists and chills with supernatural and poltergeist
events is recounted in a vast number of reports of these.  There have
been measurements in rooms where seances were held which showed
demonstrable drops in temperature.  Perhaps one of the most
revealing examples was on one 'Unsolved Mysteries' episode where
no one could call out on the telephone when the exciting things began
because of the overwhelming hum which came from the telephone
receiver when it was picked up.

One must pause for thought, though, when it seems possible that
the particular energy being applied to the base of the columns
and running up and down them in powerful resonant currents
is an energy which makes a variable out of time.

I've heard a number of reports which sound as though Crop Circles
do have some odd relationship with time.  In the most illustrative of
these several viewers standing at the edge of a circle realized that
while they were standing in mid-day sun about noon, across the
field beyond the circle a tree was obviously being lit by a low
sun indicating a much later time in the afternoon.  Walking over
to this tree caused a transition at some point because standing by
it one found oneself in late afternoon, just before sunset.  Walking
back across the circle returned theses folks to the noon-day sun.
One wonders what would have happened if the effect had 'shut down'
while they were standing by the tree?

I once received a picture which was of a circle with some low trees
in the background.  This picture, taken by someone expert enough
to not make obvious mistakes with a camera, looked very much
like it was a double exposure with a person in the circle having moved
a bit between exposures.  That this was a more complex photo than
that showed in the trees, which appeared to be in two separate layers,
as though seen at two different times.  A single picture of two separate
times.  Time as a variable.  It was well joshed about during a standing
stone
research project that digital  wristwatches fared poorly in stone circles,
failing at an unusual rate.

When I was in the first Crop Circle near Portland, Oregon
Carol Pedersen, the local Center for Crop Circles Studies
representative had her watch display fade out over a short period.
Watches frequently get unhappy in circles.  Replacing the battery
fixed the problem, yet another battery drained by the circles.
In Britain there are quite a few of these failed watches, they are
not so easily fixed.  It appears something goes bonkers in the
quartz crystal which sets the time base for a watch.

This whole idea, that there is an energy form which treats time as a
variable, helps explain why ancient man spent so much time building
all those stone temples one finds the globe littered with.  This was to
petty pursuit.  It also is probably why so much intense anxiety was
expressed by the Greeks when the temple effects began to fade.
Yet later than the time of the Greeks with their fading lives came
the Anasazi who put some more of these large stone structures on
what appears to be another hub.  That was apparently around 1000
a.d.  At these times there was not global communications system so
very likely no one knew that while they couldn't find flint to make
sparks with someone else on the other side of the ocean had their
fire burning quite brightly.  This is one of the advantages we have
in dealing with the hum and circles phenomena, we are able to
detect 'hot spots' with a lot more speed and a lot less travel than
previous peoples ever dreamed of.

Here is a thought for a little research.  If temple columns are indeed
a high-tech version of standing stones then there is some likelihood
that in any given temple one column will have a 'resident,' which can
be detected by magnetic means. A good search of some of these old
stone columns, pillars, obelisks, etc., might turn up some very interesting
information.  One wonders what a compass might have registered
if brought near the Ark of the Covenant.

There is, I suggest, even a more demonstrative way of getting these
magnetically banded stones to reveal themselves a little more clearly.
If something is magnetically active then it is probably magnetically
sensitive.  If one did some careful compass or coil work on a standing
stone and found it displaying these most interesting bands or patches
of magnetism one might get an interesting change in the measurements
if one could generate a modest pulse of magnetism without too much
trouble.  It turns out that many folks in the field are carrying a device
that does just that.

The common Strobe-light, as used in photography, puts out a real
blast of a magnetic pulse whenever it is flashed .  The nature of
these devices is such that the light is produced by a short but enormous
burst of electric current.  Any heavy flow of electricity causes an intense
magnetic field to radiate from the current carrying wires inside the strobe.
Just setting off a Strobe-light near the striped magnetic patterns might
be enough to cause the patterns to shift.  Study of the results and
seeing how far the strobe can be removed before the changes stop
occurring could reveal a lot.

I tried this in both circles I visited in Oregon.  While I could perceive
no obvious effect, and I had my sensitive coil on at the time, it was
just a bit later that the battery in the wristwatch failed.  Unfortunately
it takes a lot of circles and a lot of experimenting to get these kinds
of issues sorted out, I've only had two years and no more circles
beyond the first two so progress is still to be made in the quest to
link lighted wheels and shifting time.

I also tried radio stimulation of both circles, 3 watts at 27 MHz from
a C.B. transceiver, antenna extended and pointed into the circle
from the edge as though stimulating a wave guide.  Again I've just
not had the number of experiences with this necessary to really
understand the causes and effects.  At each circle, however, I got
a heap of strange things going on, either from people reporting odd
sensations to destruction of most of my research batteries so there
is some possibility this works.  As it's known spheres respond to
27 MHz, there is some reason to think it might work on circles.

 We've wandered a bit far from Egypt here, let's see what's going
 on there underground.

As archeology has proven time and again, the Egyptians and many
peoples in history have created almost as extensive set of stone
constructions, catacombs, tombs, tunnel works, as they have above.
As we've seen that possibly stone, and spinning wheel pulsing
energy sources create unusual effects we might wonder
what could possibly be of such great interest down there?

While we have no known record of what the purpose of these
catacombs is we might get some answers from hard-rock miners
who certainly spend a lot of time underground.  One of the myriad
of experiences they have underground is called a 'Tommy knocker.'
A Tommy knocker is the sound, apparently always heard coming only
from abandoned sections of mine shaft, of someone working the
shaft.  Picks, shovels, drifting from the deepest, darkest shafts.

One miner who went in search of sounds like this reported something
quite interesting when we apply it back to the Egyptian catacombs.
He walked along the abandoned shaft, picking his way among the
debris by the light of his helmet lamp.  Suddenly he seemed to step
out literally into a paradise, rolling green hills, trees, which instantly
disappeared upon his retreating by a single step.  Stepping forward
again he was rewarded with the warm air and incredible view, although
very conscious in his mind was the fact that he was a thousand feet
underground.  A couple of tries at stepping forward produced the
same results, then suddenly the effect was no more and he was alone
in a deep and dripping mine shaft.

Hums and 'Deep Organ tones' are also heard occasionally in mines,
but miners, a 'superstitious lot' are obviously making this all up.

It appears possible then that these extensive catacombs, which
I've read are found in many places worldwide, and apparently
there is a particularly big one in France, may have had some
further purpose than simply serving as a storehouse for thousands
of apes, birds and animals of every sort that were found mummified
and carefully placed in alcove along the side of a vast catacomb.
The Zoo which held these animals has never been found. Such
are the peculiarities of ancient Egypt.

The Egyptians were also big on 'Stele,' or Obelisks, tall single spires
of stone.  They kept trying to build them bigger, one which fractured
in the stone quarry where it was being excavated would have stood
over two hundred feet tall.  Apparently first rate 'spirit stone' (their
term)
was considered to be Rose Quartzite, Granite stone with a heavy lacing
of Rose colored Quartz.  Again a compass would be fun near one of
these, although it might be a faded effect now, especially after the
monoxide and acids of London and New York, places to which the
Stele have been carried among several others, have eaten away at
them for years.

There is a peculiar link between the effects of the God's in ancient
Egypt and Crop Circles which helps push the idea that what we
are talking about here is all one part of a gigantic potential technology.

In his Public Broadcasting Series 'Ancient Lives,' John Romer talks
about how the ancient Gods had very real physical effects, including
making the carriers, the folks who lifted the poles to carry the particular
God through the streets, (the god being contained in a medium sized
statue) stoop and lower the front of the statue as answer to the
questions posed.

A more recent example is given by Romer who says that in the
1930's a decision was made to move a saint out of the building
he was in so the building could be demolished and a new one
for some other purpose built.  When they came to carry off the
Saint's coffin they were frozen in their tracks and could not move
closer to the coffin, so it still resides in its historic spot.
Being 'frozen,' immobilized, is one of the effects reported in circles,
it apparently has happened several times.
Another note from Herodotus might be informative here.  There
are very few real records of what took place during the initiation of
young men into the Egyptian priesthood, but a tiny fragment was learned by
Herodotus.  During the initiation rituals the temple would rumble and
shake as though a vigorous earthquake were upon it.  Obviously
you couldn't have been doing this for real or the temple would simply
have collapsed, but the effect seemed overwhelming and was followed
by another effect which had the sun rise (during services in the middle
of the night) and cross the sky in a period apparently of about fifteen
minutes.  From what I can discern the rumble was something like the
low rumbling that hummers pick up, there can also be the sensation
of a place shaking coupled with this.

The short 'sun' passage is likely a sphere, these have been seen
in recent times at brilliances which could equal the sun at least at
relatively short range.

It might be assumed  from these examples that the spheres,
spinning wheels and lighted geometric lines and crescents are
masters of illusion, being able to go well beyond hums and rumbles
into full substitute realities, if we ever get this effect under control
the mass media are Kaput, who wants to watch when you could
have things 'real as you want them to be.'

Life underground in the catacombs then may have been an attempt
to get closer to the source of these energies so one could partake of
even more 'Holodeck' like experiences.  It is of course difficult to make
out from this whether the time shifts we're studying actually were physical,
that is you could step through into other times, or mental, you could
see through to other times, or mental in that it was all what we would
call hallucination.   Let me digress from this difficult question to an
impression I've bumped into lately which may bear on this.

It appears that the Australian aborigines knew how to call one or more
of these entities into action.  This appears to have been done in a
number of ways, but two are the most illustrative, they both employ
what might be called musical instruments.  One of these is very
familiar, it is a sort of audio 'signature' for Australia, that is the
Didgeridoo, a long, tubular instrument which plays a very deep, steady
humming sound.  There is a chance that along with this sound went
a higher pitched 'clinking' or sound much like bumping two pieces of
ceramic material together with the fingers while an accompanist
plays the didgeridoo.  Some Hummers report that the sound of their
hum seems to have some higher frequency component.

The other way to call them into action is to swing a 'bull roarer,' a
diamond shaped piece of wood about a foot long, decorated with
zig zag lines as are many native Indian clay pots.  The bull roarer
makes a sound which is like the emotional tone of a very low
buzzing voice.  You can see one of these in action fairly far into
the second 'Crocodile Dundee' movie when Dundee calls in some
extra outside help by using a bull roarer.  It's a beautiful scene,
photographed against the setting sun.  Listen carefully to it.
The recording of the Didgeridoo I have also has the 'clinking' coupled
with it, and that got me to thinking about a weird thing noted in relation
to the Anasazi.  Please let me set rationality aside for a moment and
conjecture something that may be real.

It has been noted that the areas around Chaco Canyon, where
the Anasazi hub is, are covered with broken shards of clay pots.
There is another place, Africa I think, where some peoples lived in
cliff based homes almost identical to those of the Anasazi.  The area
in front of the cliffs is also heavily covered with pieces of broken pots.
Covered is really a weak word, the areas in both cases are so littered
with broken pots that you can hardly walk without stepping on them.

I suspect that if instructions were given for 'firing up' the spinning
wheels they might be something like this, an amalgam of aboriginal
and Indian techniques.  'Make a few very attractive clay pots, decorate
them and love them for they are your creation.  Fill them with water
and begin your journey into the desert to the hub area.  When you
arrive there you may, as the aborigines say, hear the 'sound of a
bull roarer.'  If you do, great, the wheels are already spinning and
you can expect action soon automatically.  However, if that fails,
you can stimulate them into action yourself.  First finish off the
water in the pots you have brought.  Next,  'Make a low humming
sound, this could be a simple chant or steady droning like 'Om.'

At the appropriate moment, smash your pots.  This provides two
simultaneous bursts of stimulation.  One is the emotional zap gotten
from destroying something you've put a lot of effort into, the other
is the high-pitched and intense crashing of the pots.

The hard part is in figuring out what happened next.  Was it illusion,
vision, travel?  Here may be a hint for all the Sherlock Holmes'.
We now have some evidence that near the end of their time the
Anasazi were facing increasing drought.  One might think that
if one had a chance to get out, one might certainly, especially as
year after year of shorter rainfall continued, find oneself smashing
a lot of pots in order to provide what the ancestors said could be
a response to needing to leave some place when you knew of nowhere
else to go.  'Variable reinforcement' is a well known psychological
effect where you tend to keep doing something that worked once
many times when it doesn't work because you think there is a chance
it will again.  The addictive power of gambling shows that this is not
some hypothetical construct. Each time some supernatural effect
was needed the clay was slung into pots, and off to the hub to try
and get a response.  Not unlike some stranded traveler trying to
'call home' an a intermittent or defective radio.

So if one night as you sat eating dinner a member of your tribe was
heard running towards your village yelling 'It's Time!' and you knew
that time might  be very  brief, wouldn't you instantly stop dinner,
leaving everything just as it was, and make a run for the door to another
time?

It is interesting to note that one theme in pottery decoration worldwide
are the zig-zags, spirals in circular or rectangular form and block shapes
seen in the spinning wheels areas.  The Anasazi were big on this
decoration too, a way of seeing the Gods effects ( Visions of
contradictory patterns of Zig-Zag and other lines) so they understand
what you expect from carrying around these precious water jugs.

Now the question becomes, just how is it that the 'God's' could see
through these people and hear through them and perhaps, live
through them?

Again, we have to look irrationally at something in order to get a faint
glimpse, I remind you that what follows is again conjecture, although
I'm fairly sure this is a direction the research is leading.
How does a 'God' in a statue cause its carriers to stoop? How
does it 'freeze' someone?

As a person who has programmed computers, and also designed both
analog and digital circuitry, I've slowly become really testy about the
current theories of how the brain works.  This tendency to see it as
some kind of advanced digital computer is really missing the mark
It only looks that way to someone who isn't really familiar with digital
electronics for eventually a real failure of the theory sets in.  As usual
that failure is only now noticeable because we have the capability
of measuring the minute quantities of chemicals used as 'messengers'
in neuron to neuron communication.

Neurons are the single cells of which many billions make up our brains.
Neurons are different from other cells because they are more
electrically organized than other cells.  When stimulated by chemical
messages from another cell or cells, a neuron hums.  It may send out
a single pulse to the next neuron but when a neuron is in a busy
part of a system where information is fairly steadily transferring it and
the others in that system are humming, sending out steady streams of
pulses at rates up to 1 KHz, a thousand pulses per second.

The breakdown comes when you try to figure out how essentially
one-zero situations are sufficient, simply by connecting up enough
neurons in networks, to describe what we perceive as consciousness.
The chemical mix jumping across the neuron to neuron gap suggests
something more complicated is going on here.  If the output of a
dendrite, the communicating part of a neuron, were a simple stimulating
chemical which caused the next neuron to fire I could believe more
in a digital neural system.  This variable chemical mix sounds
as though the neurons are transferring much more information in
some coded fashion, but that is totally contradictory to the digital idea.

We do know that one way or another when a neuron is stimulated it
sends a pulse of electricity along its body from one end to the other.
That pulse is either repeated by the next neuron, enhanced or forgotten.
Here may be the place to study the true relationship between electricity
and this new energy form, for we are looking at a place where the
two might be seen working together, a kind of neural Rosetta Stone.

Let's postulate for a moment, that electricity is a kind of side effect
of the actions going on with our unknown energy, that when it swings
into action electrons get a bit knocked around and allow us to measure
the unknown energies actions by monitoring the secondary electric
effects.  That could mean that our brains actually operate on this
unknown energy form and that the electric pulses emitted by neurons
is just the side effect, the main show is a much larger information
process taking place outside the sight of our instruments.

In other words we have yet to actually measure the functional nature
of the brain because we are lacking the instruments with which to
tap into the 'consciousness' of each neuron. We are presently
measuring something like the light coming from a light-bulb without
seeing that heat is the major product.

The present electric theories of our brains are very safe theories
because they tend to reinforce the idea that we are singular
individuals, with little possibility for invasion by things like the
Taos Hum.  Yet the Hum has a good possibility of forcing us to
revamp these theories, especially now that some really good
research has been done which does not find the hum simply.

If we actually operate by some unknown energy, or energies, then
suddenly we could be open to outside influence, as the Santerian
or 'possessional' religions suggest.  Anything from these regions
which operated on the same energy forms as neurons could
control their operation in some way and while this may be a
paranoids delight that doesn't mean it isn't true.

This would help to account for the well known feeling in Crop Circles
that the 'makers' of the circles are quite present, understand when
you are trying to research, and succeed to large degree in foiling you.
Actually, they may be experiencing through the researcher,  an
extension of the mind with separate consciousness.  This would
make studying them about as difficult as it is in reality.

The strength of this effect, as the intensity and number of spinning
wheel occurrences, is probably cyclic. What might be the source of
this cycle?  If the 'God's' did fade away in Ancient Greece what
might mark the changes necessary for the cycle to begin again?

In many ways our scientific record is awfully short.  We have only
been measuring sunspots in a coherent way for the last four-hundred
years.  For the length of that four-hundred year record the sun has
been increasing the strength of its cycling.  The sunspot cycle lasts
eleven years and each eleven year cycle has seen a marked increase
in the average level of sunspot activity.  My own thought for the moment
is that this is the key to our 'God's cycle,' that sometime ago, perhaps
ten-thousand years or so, the cycle began to wane and continued
to do so until it reached bottom say around a thousand years ago.

This means that during the megalithic age one might have had enough
of this enigmatic energy to simply toss up a standing stone and
get powerful effects.  As the power levels dropped it took more stones,
now organized in circles to obtain the desired results.  Over
more time the stones had to be carefully cut into efficient forms
like the columns used in Egyptian temples, and the huge
Stele.  This column building becomes a real fad, everybody's
doing it, because 'civilization' is advancing even as the power
base is failing.  Finally we come to the Greeks and the final fade.

On the hemisphere of the Americas the fade may have been later
for many of the megalithic cultures here are newer than 3000 B.C.,
and were still going when invaded from Europe.  The contemporary
nature of the Aztecs and others could suggest that the energy levels
here are a bit higher naturally than around the basin of the
Mediterranean.

This of course, is speculation, there is a vast amount of research
necessary to even begin delineating reality in this matter, but as
the hummers have a powerful vested interest in discovering the
sources of the hum and especially how to shut it off we might
actually be able to progress.

The point of this discussion is to provide some inspiration for research,
not just abstract philosophy.  When I studied parapsychology I kept
getting the impression of electric like effects, descriptions of esoteric
occurrences which sounded to me like electrostatics, and capacitance.

Fortunately our modern technologies allow us simple and inexpensive
access to devices without precedence.  When I contacted the various
circle researchers one told me he had done some electrostatic research
and had his instrument smashed in a car wreck.  As I had designed and
tested a very simple version of one of these for my own research I
promptly sent him a diagram and he duplicated it and found that it
worked as well for him as the expensive commercial version he had.

I then made several audio tapes which explained this situation to other
Crop Circle research groups and described ways to simply detect
various electrical functions in this same grassroots fashion.  As there
has never been any easy funding for this research, and isn't likely to
be in the foreseeable future my 'Farm Boy's' solutions to these basic
electronic problems hit the spot and became for me a fascinating
and exciting experience of having some of the few successes that
were being made in those early days.  From what I can tell a couple
of these circuits and experiments may help the hummers locate their
broadcast centers, and Crop Circle enthusiasts can work with
the all of the circuits.

One of the original circuits I designed matured into a very real device
acceptable by professional contemporary researchers for working on
the detection of Electronic Earthquake Precursors.  That  has been the
most interesting of all aspects of this research, the way you can research
much of Crop Circles and Earthquake precursors with the same gear.
Certainly it suggests that these are interrelated, as unlikely as that might
seem.  Whether these devices will be successful in helping locate
hummer sources is yet to be proven, although proof in this case,
locating the sources, proves all and we find that the previous
imaginative excursion is true in its entirety.  Yay Hummers!

On this sketchy and rather glossed information base let's head in
closer to real  research.  Some observations from reports of circle
experiences show a larger phenomenon in these fields than one
might expect.

There appears to be a vertical component to the energy which
forms circles, an effect which suggests the energy sprays up from
beneath the earth.  Imagine that rather than a circle in the crop, a pit the
same size has been dug in the field.  Let's say it's twenty feet deep.
In that pit we'll park a World War II searchlight, the kind used for
spotting planes high in the sky.  We turn the beam on and aim it
straight up.

Now climb out of that pit and walk away across the field until
the wheat hides the pit and all you can see is wheat in all directions.
When you look at the area where the circular pit is you notice the
beam shining far into the sky.  If there are clouds in the sky the beam
illuminates a bright spot on their bases as they pass over the searchlight.

Returning to the imaginary pit we now replace all the dirt while leaving
the searchlight burning down at the bottom.  The light vertical beam
goes out, having been covered and blocked by earth.

If the source of the light, the arc burning inside the searchlight housing
is replaced by a 'circle maker,' one of the 'whatever-it-is' that makes
circles, the beam is not blocked by the light. It shines straight up only
now it fills the entire circle, maybe taking on its pattern, maybe not,
fine details to be found out.

So brilliant is this beam that the general 'glow' around it extends
fifty to two-hundred feet beyond the outside edge of the circle. Several
reports seem to suggest this.  A farmer stopped his tractor inside  a circle
and, modern farming being a bit different from the old horse and plow,
reached for his cel-phone (!).  Finding the telephone wouldn't work he
climbed out of the tractor and walked to the edge of the circle.  He found
that if he held the phone just outside the edge of the circle it worked
fine.

If he pulled the cel-phone back in to the circle it would quit working.
Back and forth, it would operate outside but not inside, the circle.

A model aircraft used with an on board camera to photograph the
circles would lose control and act as though it couldn't receive signals
from the hand held transmitter on the ground.  Each time it flew directly
over the circle this would occur, but when not over the circle it would
respond to the remote controls normally.

Notice that in each case a small transmitter has been turned on.
The cel-phone is transmitting at around 900 MHz, and emitting about
one tenth of a watt, a very small amount of power.  The radio control is
either near 27 MHz. or 72 MHz. unless British frequency allocations are
substantially different than here in the U.S. and the radio control is
probably radiating between one-half and three watts. This is modest
power although standard A.M. commercial radio transmitters send
out from one thousand to fifty thousand watts.

In Canada, Chad Deetken was researching a large circle.  He noticed
that Geese in a nearby lake would take off in the direction of the
circle but would not fly over it at all.

Grip your credibility gland tightly, here's a harder one.  One discovery
in relationship to the circles is that some circles turn up magnetized
wheat heads and chaff.  Further analysis has shown that the heads have
a kind of glaze on them, which turns may be meteoritic dust.  The vertical
'beam' seems in some cases reach all the way out into space, collecting
interplanetary dust and spiraling it down to the circles far below.

My own suggestion to add to this theory is that it is within this beam that
the glowing spheres appear, and that there is likely an underground
beam source like this associated with each appearance of the spheres.
The beam sources appear to be mobile in some cases, a glowing light
was seen traveling between two places where identical size and shape
'Celtic cross' circles were found.  While we generally don't see the
vertically pointed beam we do see glowing lights and spheres inside
the beam, a bit like  passing clouds only more related to the beam
energy than clouds are to a searchlight.

I have not finished any more of this article, and I want the people most
concerned with these energies, the Hum Hearers, to get this information
promptly as their negative experiences are of a daily nature and reading
this may at least provide a bit of insight into what can be a very confusing
experience.  More will follow shortly.
