For quite a while I pondered whether to keep this site going or not. I do this in my spare time and NONE of the companies listed give me anything to have them listed here - hence there has never been a great incentive to keep up with things.

But, your emails over the last couple years have taught me that there IS definite use for this site and that it can be a valuable service. So, it is time to think about expanding it. This new update adds about 40-50 new entries, plus corrected entries for about 20-30 others. I also made some structural changes to improve both readability for you and updateability for me (plus a slight facelift.) In the next few months, I am planning to add a method for readers to submit information to be listed on the site as well.

This site was created at the end of 1994, way back when e-commerce was only a gleam in the eyes of a few. I started the site to serve as a repository of information for contacting mail order companies, at a time when a company having a web page was the absolute exception to the rule.

Times certainly have changed. The Internet bubble has grown, and popped, but its effect is here to stay. Now, if a catalog retailer does NOT have an online presence, they are making a big mistake. That is good news for ALL consumers, in my opinion. If you can not find what you need here, you can take a look at some other good sites that list mail order catalogs as well.
