Proverbs...on God's relationship to wisdom:
Pr.1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools [a] despise wisdom and discipline. (NIV)
Pr.2:5-9:
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. 9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair--every good path. (NIV)
Pr.8:22-31:
22 The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, [b] [c] before his deeds of old; 23 I was appointed [d] from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began. 24 When there were no oceans, I was given birth, when there were no springs abounding with water; 25 before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, 26 before he made the earth or its fields or any of the dust of the world. 27 I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, 28 when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, 29 when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth. 30 Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, 31 rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind. (NIV)
Pr.9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (NIV)
Pr.22:17-19:
17 Pay attention and listen to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, 18 for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. 19 So that your trust may be in the LORD, I teach you today, even you. (NIV)
