Proverbs...on trust in God:
Pr.3:5-12:
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. [a] 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, 12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father [b] the son he delights in. (NIV)
Pr.14:26-27:
26 He who fears the LORD has a secure fortress, and for his children it will be a refuge. 27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death. (NIV)
Pr.16:20
Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD. (NIV)
Pr.18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (NIV)
Pr.19:21
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. (NIV)
Pr.21:31
The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD. (NIV)
Pr.29:25-26:
25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. 26 Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the LORD that man gets justice. (NIV)
Pr.30:5-9:
5 Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar. 7 Two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die: 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (NIV)
