general snow event update.

Decided to note an update in this winter weather we've had. It snowed Saturday lightly, a dusting for accumulation in the puget sound convergance zone area. Most less traveled roads were sheets of ice Wednesday, through Monday. Tuesday morning we got another wave of snow. This time tempratures hovered right around 32-35 degrees. Seattle and Everett area was around 35 with 2-3 inches of snow. Gold bar stayed at 32 degrees and we got 4 inches of new snow, on top of the 10 old inches. Thawing has yet to happen.

Looking at the Almanac the outlook for this winter has been very accurate. So, assuming it will continue to be accurate, we are expecting a heavy snow storm in Mid-late Feburary. This snow event and the ones before it were "light snow falls"

Still working on that weather station, it's almost there. I'm going to assemble the server this weekend for it. Still not sure when I'll get the sensor array.

Long awaited update that kept getting put off...

Several not so big events have been going on lately that I just haven't had time to get to posting about. But sense I'm studying the patterns I wanted to at least make note of what they were and when.

12-27-2006: Moderate snowfall in the eastern puget sound lowlands left 2 inches of snow in most places, this was due to a convergance zone that developed after a storm front pushed through.

1-5-2007: Snow fall in Gold Bar friday morning on the approaching storm front. About an inch accumulated before stopping. Later that afternoon it had warmed from 32.1 degrees up to 38 degrees and then rained.

1-5-2007: Northern Puget sound region (Everett and north) Was hit hard by a windstorm, winds sustained at 30mph and gusted to 60mph. Power outages were reported in Snohomish, and King Countys, however Seattle City Light had no power outages.

1-7-2007: Morning hours brought more winds to the lowlands due to a strong storm front. heavy snows in the mountains, 1-2 feet fell overnight.

Forcast calls for a snow event in the puget sound lowlands this coming Tuesday night and Wednesday. On the annaversery of the 1-8-2005 - 1-9-2005 snow event. Interesting. You can view pictures from that storm at this link. http://www.eskimo.com/~carl/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=7

Thats it for now, still working on the weather station stuff. I may get a daily update tonight if I have time.
