The weather station is back online!

It took a lot longer than I expected to get things put back together and up and running but everything is finally set up, except the web cam part.

The weather station will update every 5 minutes. It is a wmr100 (Oregon Scientific) and I have it mounted on a 4x4 about 15 feet above ground.
Below is a picture of it's current set up, it was photographed 12/02/2007.
I'll get a better, not so foggy picture and not so covered in snow picture soon.

Wind Storm 2008!

What a year 2007 was in weather. I don't even have close to the time right now to write up what I'd like to write up but stay tuned for 2006/2007 winter season overviews and 2007/2008 winter overviews.

The new year brought a windstorm to the Cascade foot hills. Here in Big Bend, Gold Bar it's been very windy all day. At the 15 foot above ground level I've recorded gusts to 31mph but I can tell just by looking at the trees that it is much stronger higher up. Areas around North Bend recorded some gusts over 60mph.
