Witchcraft

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. A friend of mine is a shaman. Or at least he was on that path for awhile. The more I learned about his "real" or outer life, the more I wondered ... What does a modern day shaman do?

This friend lives in a context that ignores the inner person to a great extent. His talents as a shaman go largely unnoticed, or at the very least unacknowledged, by those closest to him. He seemingly moves within a world peopled by the incurious, the mundane. Perhaps these are only my perceptions. I know his world only from passing comments he has made over the years.

The point here is that even if he chooses to fully realize that part of himself at some point in the future, what would it look like? How would it be expressed in his life? What effect would it have on his world view, his relationships, his life?

Pointless wondering maybe ... but it led me to examine my own path.
