FRANKLIN DONAHOE – JUNIOR WARDEN

The Lodge's third in line
officer, Franklin Donahoe is an information security
officer for a National telecommunications company in the Pacific
Northwest and comes from a background that has been active in
community service. Daylight's support of the Arts and its
community involvement attracted him to seek membership and he
finished his degree work October 15, 2005. He became an
officer when appointed to his first Lodge office as Steward in
2006-2007 and moved the next year to Senior Deacon.
Elected Junior Warden for 2008-2009 in this office his biggest
mission is to coordinate the lodge's yearly Honors Dinner for
the Principal Players of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra
but more importantly to see that the Lodge members do not go
hungry at regular meetings or other social events. He is
expected to see that the members are always on their best
behavior. The members expect him to plan social events so
they can have fun. He is also a major part of the District
No. 5 Lodge Officers and Members Association serving as
President. As Junior Warden he is also expected to be able
to step on into the next office of Senior Warden and even fill
the Master's chair should it become necessary.
He was President of the Associated Students of the
University of Washington where he graduated with a degree in
Political Science and Economics. He then went on to further
his education at Carnegie Mellon University where he received two
Master of Science degrees, one in Information Systems Management and
another in Public Policy Management.
Donahoe was born in Houston, Texas and served time
in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Personally Donahoe has a philosophy
about Masonry that requires each Mason to be accountable and
responsible for country, state, county and homes we live in.
There is no reason to complain about the country we build unless we
ourselves fulfill our obligations to one another and our fellow man.
The principles of this country are ours, and when our County
deviates from those principles it is out duty to bring it back.
Also, Masonry (especially in our Lodge) is fun.
And that's the way it's supposed to be! Freemasonry is supposed to
bring men of different belief, cultures, races and ethnicities
together in a common place, with a common creed. Don't be
fooled, disagreement happens, but the strength of our brotherhood is
shown in the peaceful resolution.
