psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Chantel is beginning
a private counseling practice in the Fremont area.
The Board met on August 4 for its annual retreat. It selected
the following goals for the 1996-97 program year:
- To continue to provide high-quality lectures on Jung's psychology.
- To improve the Society's financial standing by raising member
dues.
- To increase the number of members.
- To increase attendance at lectures and workshops.
This year's program, "Jungian Psychology into the 21st Century,"
promises to be an exciting one, beginning with the one-man play
Forever Jung. Jung's work is timeless and the demands of
technology on the human psyche make it all the more important
that we allow space for the images from the unconscious.
We will begin 1997 with a monthly lecture on the second Friday
and a workshop the following Saturday. The first part of the year
will highlight the theme "The Journey of Individuation."
Scheduled speakers are:
- January - Thomas Kirsch, M.D.: Why Individuation? The Uses
and Abuses of Individuation
- February - John van Eenwyk, Ph.D.: The Chaotic World of
Symbols
- March - Ladson Hinton, M.D.: Individuation, Narcissism
and the Hunt for the Wild Unicorn
- April - Betty Meador, Ph.D.: Preparing for the Milennium:
The Problem of Opposites in the Age of Aquarius
