May 1998 marks the conclusion of Lucretia's fourth term as President of the Jung Society, Seattle. Our current Vice President, Karen Campbell, has accepted the nomination for President for the next term.
For the past three years Karen has edited the Jung Society's newsletter. Based on the quality of the newsletter and Karen's enthusiasm and dedication to high standards, we feel certain that the Jung Society will continue to grow and our programs will reflect both traditional and current Jungian thought delivered by the most highly trained presenters and experts on Jung's work.
Our programs, under the direction of Jungian analyst Peter Elting, have been of excellent quality these last two years and well received by the community. Our 1998-99 programs are now being planned. The program theme is The New Millennium. Golda Posey has agreed to chair the program committee, with Peter Elting continuing as a consultant. We are grateful to both Peter and Golda for their hours of volunteer work to create this year's program.
Other volunteers to whom we are extremely grateful for their help in keeping Jung Society alive this year are: Erwin Buske, treasurer; Jean Butler, secretary; John Krausser, membership; Daisy Lu, hospitality and publicity; Judith Capili, library; David Steinmetz, Jung Society web page; Diane Bogue, cashier; Steve Russell, audio-visual; and Bunny Brown, historian and office manager. Special thanks to Corey Schulz in selecting and setting up an office printer. Library volunteers have included Fern Durand, Betty Davisson, Jean Butler, Milly and Bob Royce, Sally Schmidt, and Jeff Warner. These individuals have contributed many hours of their time.
We welcome three new volunteers: Sam Osborne, newsletter editor; Laurene Peterson, publicity; and Fay Besharat, facility.
Sam is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at the Institute for Ecumenical Theological Studies at Seattle University. He holds a degree in cultural anthropology and worked in the publishing industry prior to graduate school.
Laurene is employed by Nordstrom. Before moving to Seattle, she taught piano on the music faculty of Baylor University in Texas. In addition to word processing skills and her talents as a musician, she creates unique and beautiful wire jewelry, and is a writer.
Fay is a successful real estate agent for Windermere Realty. She has a degree in French and grew up in Iran and France. She has a passion for all types of yoga and is a yoga instructor.
We still could use your help as a volunteer in one or more of the following areas: program, library, hospitality, audio-visual, publicity, and facility.
